LH for free or discount?

Did you try logging in to see?  That would seem to be the most direct way to find out...

At one point there was a discount applied in Steam and Stardock's storefronts if you already owned Fallen Enchantress, but there was previously a post in this forum indicating that the discount was going to expire; no idea if they have extended that program.

Aside from that, Stardock and Steam have periodically had sales on Fallen Enchantress and its DLCs; if you're strapped you could try waiting for one of those to roll around (I believe Steam has a notification system to tell you when specific games go on sale.)

Dude it's worth it at full price. The improvements in Legendary Heroes seem subtle but truly make for a better game.

Yes I'm aware of that, the leveling system is awesome! I just can't buy it right now if there's a steam sale for 75% discount I'll get it with all the DLC's. Dead world seems kinda broken though.

Those of us who got it FREE are those of us who bought Elemental War of Magic when it was new. It's for US. For our dedication and loyalty and Stardocks screwup too of course. We got Fallen Enchantress FREE before Legendary Heroes. It's nice to get something FREE. Now, if I could only get around to playing it anymore. It's lost its lustre to me. Even with all the upgrading an improvements. If there's anything I hate it's starting a game over n over n over again because of updates and patches. From the last time I played it before they ruined champions it was pretty good tough. I don't care for the new method of obtaining champions now though.

You might want to take a look at Age of Wonders 3 as well, which comes out in about 18 days or so.  That's got the leveling as well, and looks super-promising.

That's not saying you should forget about LH , it's a worthy game, and it's going to have expansions and a new game this year as well.  (You could wait for the new LH later on this year)  It does come up on sale fairly often, if you scour across the discounting sites- you should be able to pick it up half off in a few weeks.

This isn't a slam on LH at all- it's a worthy game, very good.   It's just there are a lot of really good choices coming out soon, it's a great year for TBS gaming.

Only 6 playable races? No thank you. They have already dumbed down that series quite enough since the first one. I also prefer games without MP balancing in them like this one as it doesn't screw up the single solo player game like Triumph and co. did with AOW:SM

I played age of wonders 2 years ago and I loved it, it was the reason I looked for Fallen enchantress. It will be released here at march 31 for the same price as FE:LH.  It's hard to decide wich one I should pick because I have other things like girlfriend, car, school etc. I can't just spend lots of money in games like when I was younger

LH is more likely to go on sale first, if that helps.

LH has already been sold as low as $10.  Probably will hit that again in the Steam Summer Sale if nothing else.

Sales come every so often on various digital outlets.  GamersGate often has sales, so that's another place to keep an eye on.

Hi everyone, I find it a bit unfair that having bought the game at full price while it was in its beta period, now I have to pay the full price again for a stand-alone expansion pack. What makes it even more unfair on my part is that I wanted to support the devs as soon as possible, so I bought it while it was still in beta. 2 years later, only now do I have the time to actually play the game but I come back and find out that there's an expansion pack (which makes you feel like the original game is incomplete, even the download link has the word "legacy" in front of it). Now I either have to pay the full price again or play a game that feels incomplete

Anyways stardock, thank you very much for this great game. Please keep making them and I'll keep supporting you!

age of wonders 1 was awesome, great fun. the sequel had glaring, atrocious lack of AI, but still got a few hours of fun out of it i guess. Although AoW 3 is on my watchlist, there's no way I'm preordering it before I know for sure its actually half decent or better in the AI department

*remembers running a lone unit in and out of a town with towers to make the enemy attackers run endlessly back and forth with his whole melee army until the tower killed them all*

I am hearing the AOW3 AI is improved- they've taken a couple of pages out of Stardock's book in some areas, such as multithreaded AI and a better version of the cloth map.

Yeah, I bought this game at launch when it was called Elemental and was very disappointed. I got pretty annoyed because I hate blowing that kinda cash on garbage so I just avoided talk from Stardock for ages and now there's supposedly a version that's out that's what we were promised when we bought the original game, but Stardock is charging for it. GJ. You don't make me want to support your company. :) 

You have no one to blame for that but your self, the new versions were discounted for years, starting from FE to the current Legendary Heros. Im sure stardock is not missing anything since you could not be assed to check on the discounts that were practically shoved in our faces over the development process for these new games.

I also  bought the original elemental, and were really sad at how bad it was. A year later, I got an email from stardock where they apologized for the shit elemental, and said they remade the game to be good and provided me with a free DL link yay for registering your stardock games at their homepage, and yay for stardock themselves

either you wait for a discount on steam or buy it directly on the stadrock page.

i don't know how it is in your country but i am from germany and steam converts the prices 1:1 here. 30$ games cost 30€ for me, which is quite pricy. to compare it, usually in america as far as i can tell AAA titles cost 60$, the german / EU equivalent would be 40€, but steam also converts this to 60€ which is quite heavy. at least so it was 1-2 years ago but many seem to adjust to steams unfair pricing. i always try to buy games from their original / us-based store with paypal cause i give the devs / publishers the price they asked for and not the cheap 1:1 conversion steam wants. so for me i get a constant 25-30% discount. maybe for you it's the same, based on your currency exchange rate you might wanna try out buying it from the stardock homepage.

It gets even better when you pre-ordered Elemental... which I did pretty much after the initial announcement... Brad promised to make up for the mistakes he made, and promised we would get the next two iterations for free. Those turned out to be Fallen Enchantress and Legendary Heroes. *yumm*

You can shout all you want about not getting a discount, or feeling that FE is not done because there is an expansion, but you can't blame Stardock for that, they did an excellent job with FE, and made a hell of an expansion with LH.
