Is there a way to add my own music like in Distant worlds?

I would really like to add my own music while playing. Is there a way to do this?

For example in Distant Worlds they have a music folder and you simply drop in (any) music you want into it and it will follow and cue with the the other in game music. Its absolutely awesome!

I am really interested in listening to some classical music, Bach, Mozart, Grieg and such.

Wagner? Ride of the Valkeryes? :)

Gustav Holst's "The Planets" is another great background piece for this game.  I just turn the music volume down in the game settings (leaving sound effects and other sliders up), and play music through my stereo, or some media player on my computer.

Actually I have Both. Ill do that.

Make sure you have the accessible RAM to handle both the game, and the media player. I tried that once on my no-longer-current machine, and got a BSoD almost at once.

Consider something very Renaissance-y, like the dances of Susato, Praetorius, or Brade. Or if you're into keyboard stuff, William Byrd. :)

Ah, classical music fans...so good to run into you lot these days. Also consider the opera Carmina Burrana. You may remember it was part of the great John Borman movie Excalibur. I have a 3.2 Ghz AMD Dual core with 8 GIGs of DDR2 RAM and a 2 GIG Nvidia video card and can run music in the background with the game without a problem. Those with similar specs would probably be alright as well. Those who haven't upgraded to at least a Dual Core yet probably should btw...PIV and HT cpus won't cut it anymore.
