[BUG?] Auto Resolve beats a 3 dragon battle

Playing my first game of FE:LH, and I'm at the end of the 2 dragon eye quest.  I have the 2 eyes, and place them in the statue, which spawns a fight with 3! dragons!  My army isn't prepared, mostly plate mace warriors, no fire resistance. If I play it out tactically, I get obliterated, as expected.  Yet if I hit "auto resolve" (top right button in the tactical screen) when I first can, I win!

Looking at the "Details" screen after the win, it looks like after I hit "auto resolve", none of the dragons got to move again.  It's all my remaining army that didn't get burned to a crisp before they could move, plinking the dragons over and over for 10-20 damage until they all die.  I don't see the dragons taking another action.

This has to be a bug!  Is it a known bug with "Auto resolve"?  It is worth uploading a save?  I don't see a known bug list, but I do admit I didn't look that closely!  I believe I have the latest steam version of FE:LH.  No mods.  Playing my first game, with all the default settings.  Not even a custom soverign!

Great game so far though, I'm continuing on without the auto resolve "win".

Thanks!

Auto resolve is messed up, yeah. Sometimes it works to your advantage, sometimes it doesn't. Once, my army of "strong" threat was destroyed by 3 level 3 air shrills on a-resolve. By the looks, they each inflected massive damage, impossinle for a creature that level.

Agree, auto resolve is bugged.  If you are going to fight dragons.  Build/train troops in a citadel that has the magic improvement that has troops resist fire damage (or is it fire damage troops dish out?  I forget.)  Anyway - cast the fire protect spell on troops first thing.
