This is great news!

I just came across the news that Gal Civ 3 is in production. You can count on me for a copy, I thought you did a fine job with Gal Civ 2. Though I'm a bit disappointed in looking at the screenshots to see that it will still be a flat universe. I was really hoping the next edition would have a 3D universe rather than have all the action take place on a single plane. And I really hope you put some extra effort into the AI, that was the main weakness in the last edition IMO. Especially with Twilight of the Arnor.

We have heard from Brad that the AIs will be better this time around.

Yes, I was reading how he was going to make good use of multi-threading capability. The AI was definitely a disappointment in Twilight of the Arnor, it did much better in Dark Avatar IMO. I guess they just couldn't quite get a handle on all those unique buildings etc. In one game I played, the Torians had a massive empire but almost all of their planets had little more than a Spaceport on it, including their home planet. And they had pitiful defences for them all. They were my main competition at the time as far as territory was concerned but they proved to be a cakewalk to destroy. I never played a game after that, it was such a let-down. Hopefully that sort of thing won't happen with the next version.

I read somewhere that Brad didn't write the worker functions for the AI in Twilight. He only wrote the AI logic.

Where in the previous titles he wrote all of the AI.

Twilight was definitely the weaker AI.
