outposts and city defense

Do you benefit from the outposts bonuses if you defend a city in its radius? If yes, does the whole city need to be inside the radius?

Yes. City hub must be in the radius.

Is there a way to see the radius of an outpost?  When it is next to a city, it just sort of blends in with the AOE of the city.

Is your grid up? With the grid it's fairly easy to see if you are within the radius (2 squares from outpost, 3 if upgraded)

Options > Show grid

OR

CTRL-g (in-game)

Thanks!  Wasn't aware of the grid option!

It's not that hard to count even without the grid.  I play with grids off and I still count that stuff out the hard way.

I think outposts could use an indicator of some sort, just like how starbases in GalCiv II clearly show you their AOE without having to count squares.
