Lack of Clarity in the Store

(see external link)

It seems I'm not the only one confused by this.

Neither the Founder's Edition or the Founder's Elite Edition says - explicitly or implicitly - that you actually purchase Galactic Civilizations III. Read the store page carefully before you continue: https://www.galciv3.com/store

The Founder's Edition looks you're buying beta access and a $10 coupon towards the full game.

The Founder's Elite Edition says you're buying Alpha, all the expansion packs and DLC, and a star name, but makes no mention of beta or the full game.

Few dedicated fans are going to hand over $99.99 unless you are clear with what they're purchasing. Please clarify!

I caught that, too.

I had mentioned it earlier and the responses seemed to settle the matter of the actual game being included.

Just weird wording. They need a proofer or somethin'. :P

Agreed I am currently holding off from buying a founder's elite because I am unsure if I will need to pay again 50$, 40$ or if the game is already included in it

True, it doesn't mention that the actual release version is included. But I think it's far more likely to be an oversight (because of how obvious it is) than malicious intent. It would be pretty short-sighted to tank their reputation like this. I'm not worried.

This. The Founder's Edition seems to be your normal Pre-Order. Essentially, it's 10$ off the Retail Price.

What I'm wondering (even though it's pretty unimportant) is: Will we be able to assign the name that appears in the special thanks? :D

Edit: I just checked the FAQ and it seems there is an answer there:

Q: How much is it?

A: The final price is $49.99, but those who join the Founder’s Program get it for $39.99. Or you can be an Elite Founder and get the game plus all DLC and expansions plus some other goodies for $99.99.

You get a Steam key for the game with both editions. :)

Sorry Adlantis, but I had to remove some of your quotes.  For some reason they broke the thread.

Cool thanks for replying. The way is it phrased I was thinking that you would be buying the founder edition and then have to buy the game at launch but with a 10$ rebate :)
Happy to have been mistaken

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused.

I think I read on the welcome message that Stardock is going to do a sale on Steam.
