can't progress in mage path

Hallo ,
I have a question about the champions mage path. After I reached about 1/3 of the path, I can't select more traits when I level up?
Are there any preconditions I have missed? Selecting traits in the common path would work, I just don't want them.
Any help out there ??
Strange, the only pre-requisites I've seen is that Air X (2 or 3 not sure) need level 5. Apart from that I've always been able to take the next trait.
What level are you? There are some traits that have a minimum level before you can pick them.

while I made a ss for your questions, I think I found something:
the trait prodigy II is on that ss not highlighted and thus it need to be selected, while in the game (even right now on the screen I did ss) it is highlighted and looks selected!
I will try to chose this next time I level up and then I'll see if it is going on. Still a weird effect!
Some times it happens that highlighted traits are not chosen yet. Thus my game highlighted Lethal III and I thought I have it but it appeared that it's missing.
It is confusing at first but if you look closely you can see the circle around a trait you already have is slightly brighter than the trait that is next on the same path. It would be easier if the next trait had a different color circle but it does help to show that there is a sort of path you need to follow to get that trait. Then again the UI does sometimes misbehave on it's own.
