10 Changes/Additions To Sins Of A Solar Empire 2

#1. Delete Vasari creating phase lanes wherever they want ability!!!!!!!!!!

 

In a late game the most annoying thing is the Vasari jumping to your homeworld which is a stupid upgrade that needs to go. or modified they could have it so they can create alternative routes that everyone can use from like 1 or maybe 2 planets distance .

 

#2. Add multicore rendering so late games can actually exist!   

A late sins game with max everything is impossible so for god sakes make the game multi core, I want to have an epic space battle with everything on full and zoom in to my battles and watch epic destruction, which reminds me ships when destroyed shouldn’t disappear until at least the battle is over.

 

#3. Add campaign that’s interesting

 

There needs to be a campaign which is what everyone says but I have a plot already though off.     6 years into the faction wars and the three races are on the verge of wiping each other out; the galaxy is in chaos and ruin. Each race is surviving on whatever resources they can scavenge from there fallen brethren, and mining planets clean.  The war is nearing its end as there is little left to fuel it.  One day it is discovered that there is an enormous energy reading coming from an unexplored source in the galaxy, desperate for a way to end the war each race sends there fastest ship to intercept this anonymous reading, each thinking of the military possibilities that could be discovered and then used against their enemies, to wipe them out once and for all. However each ship arrives simultaneously at the location, each puzzled by the others appearance they all rushed to power shields and weapons, preparing to destroy each other hopefully killing them before they would reach the energy source. But as they were each loading weapons and preparing to fire they see that the energy source is moving and heading toward them at an increasing speed. They all paused and as it comes into visual range they saw the impossible, a huge cruiser that looked more advanced than anything they had ever seen. At this point they began to understand the severity of their new problem. It was a Scout…. and they all knew who this scout belonged to; the Dark Fleet. The rumor was true, and denial was no longer possible. Still approaching at a growing pace the Humans hailed the other ships begging them to help engage the ship, pleading that this ship must not be allowed to survive and report back! The other races reluctantly agreed to help fight off this new terror. An epic battle that lasted several hours rendering the Vasari ship uninhabitable, and the Advent and Human ship severely crippled, but at least with their combine force the enemy had been destroyed, but they knew that unless they worked together they were dead in the water, and that there was no help for them out there. Eventually with the 3 races working together they got the Advent ship almost fully operational using what scraps they could find from the other ships. No weapons and no outside communication but they had enough power to make a single phase jump. Everyone squished aboard and they made for the nearest controlled planet. After they docked they immediately they separated and each headed back to their separate sections of the galaxy. After that battle it was shown that the races could work together it was thought that maybe one day they could coexist peacefully, this idea grew very popular among the civilians of each race which got things moving again, politically and diplomatically. This was being steamrolled and propelled by the idea that they could be invaded at any moment. 1 year later, The races had declared a cease fire and had started to rebuild, they declared fair borders that gave everyone a fair portion of the galaxy and they had been working together to rebuild their new unified army, sharing technology between them and preparing for what was coming. This happened for 3 more years until it was suddenly halted when a deadly rumor that spread across the civilian population like a plague, perhaps that  powerful scout that was seen all those years ago, wasn’t apart of the dark fleet and maybe they didn’t exist. With so few who actually saw the ship it was near impossible to continue to prepare for something that may or may not actually exist so the politicians and the newly elected council agreed that the military budget could be cut. And the preparations simply stopped. 1 month later a simple trading ship which was on route to deliver supplies to a science facility in the far depths of the galaxy, they reported a distress call, but by the time anyone had gotten it there was only one word that could be made out from the static message with the immense horror and screaming and that was….. Invasion.  

 

Sorry it’s a bit rushed and gimpy but that’s basically what I thought.

 

#4 Flagships that aren’t battleships! And that have a major ability, and major flaw!

 

Battleships are battleships, flagships should be different around the size of a titan but should have a major ability and a major flaw for example the tec should have a super heavily armed and armored flagship but it should have virtually no shields and it should be super slow. Advent lots and lots of shields and support abilities like shield regens but not armor, and Vasari overkill weapons super-fast but no regens at all.

 

 

#5. An actual soundtrack made by Zimmer or something!  no more fake music something real on like a piano or something cool. And have an album of cool epic music

 

 

#6. Unlimited units and unlimited gravitywell upgrade (very late game)   if multicore happens then this wont be a problem there should be a very late game ability that’s really expensive that makes it unlimited forces and gravity well. Yes I know this means like 8 starbases protecting a planet.

 

 

#7. Flanking system!

 

If you order your ships to surround an enemy ship from all sides it should have a crazy damage bonus because well if you think about it shields wouldn’t be able to stand up against weapons from all sides nearly as well as from one side only

 

#8.Different races different guns, colors, effects, and sounds!

 

What if each race had different types of guns with different effects and different sounds and colors.  That would be pretty awesome

 

 

 

#9Different upgrades per race (more specific to individual race talents) e.g Tec focus on brute force and hull+ weapons

 

 

I feel like this is slowly happening with every new game but still could be improved more

 

 

#10.New Effects, Graphical Enhancement, Planets have more than one icon (not the same terran planet over and over again)  Lighting and shadows!!!

 

Obviously with a new game new graphics are expected but new effects and weapon sounds are kinda nice to have too  and different planets with different pictures would be cool too 3 would be good?

1. Kostura needs to be changed for multiplayer purposes, with the strongest fleet in Sins (both Vasari factions) it cannot stay as it is now. If you could actually defeat a late game Vasari invading fleet than it would be OK, though somehow it should allow enemy fleets to arrive there easier, because if you are 10 jumps away basically your homeplanet is dead no matter how hard you try. And defense is useless against a fleet.

2. if they will actually make a Sins 2 game they will make it use multicore, I'm sure.

3. cool story, though it is too obvious and too lame, this everyone allies against a huge unstoppable enemy. (Just check Mass Effect from recent times), Though campaign is badly needed, even if that is no more than just some objectives during a simple game like take this and this planet, or fortify these, or have 20 trade ports, etc.

4. Flagships have no place in Sins, Titans are the actual flagships you are talking about. The ships named flagships here are just for a victory condition, to make the game more diverse (though I never played on it, I gues AI does not know how to play flagship victory).

5. I like the current music in Sins, though Endless space has more space-themed soundtracks, Sins should have some too... It is just a matter of taste, it is no use complaining about the game's music, but you are right in that the game could use more soundtracks.

6. I don't think that is a really good idea. This game definitely needs a limit in numbers, even when i will have multi-core support. 8 starbase is nothing better than one, just takes 8x more time to kill with bombers. And I don't find it fun to play with 10000 ships, that is too much, this is good the way it is now.

7.  Definitely a good idea, I always imagined shields to go dense where it is actually attacked, like on the front side, but leaving the opposite side undefended.

 Though big ships and starbases should not have this disadvantage.

8. Faction diversity is badly needed, but I don't think developers will ever make the races and faction as unique as they should be.

9. same as in point 8.

10. true, but for one actual planet texture more icons? :D the game would need more planet textures before this, but this is a mistake of many space games, making planets similar, for example Endless space has only 1 texture for each planet type, the difference is that what part of the planet you currently see as they are rotating, and their size. But this field is not the most important, just an extra.
