LH 66 % off on Steam Daily Deal
Gotta love Steam sales.
Apparently, owners of FE cannot purchase the game currently, as the discounts are causing a negative price to show up when checking out.

Stardock, it's not really fixed.
The Steam forums for this game are full of people wondering why theyre not getting 50% off the 66% off price, but are instead just getting the same price that was available to them yesterday.
A Daily Deal should also be a Daily Deal for the people that already had FE.
And yes, it is the principle of the thing. I'll check back in a few hours to see if you truly fix it.
If you have that DLC for FE you will get the one for LH for free. And it works, I can confirm it ![]()
Maybe he means the single player campaign scenario? I am kind of surprised that wasn't ported over. I think if you own the original FE it should be ported over since I don't see most people keeping both games installed.
Like some others, I'm rather disappointed that the daily deal does nothing for FE owners. I don't particularly like the direction Stardock has taken with the Elemental series, at least in terms of releases. If this was GalCiv2, I would have just bought an expansion to the base game, not a "stand alone expansion", which has dodgy math over discounts and deals (particularly since some previous owners are not getting the discount if bought through a different service).
I'll wait and see if anything changes on Steam, since it's not any cheaper than it was regularly for FE owners anyways.
I think you are misunderstanding me. If it's a daily deal, there should also be a price change for previous owners as well.
You are misunderstanding the point of Stardock (or any publisher) have for participating in Steam's Daily Deal program. They're not cutting the price of their game to gin up sales, they're offering a limited time discount to attract attention.
At this point, they've likely given up on ever selling LH to you or anyone else who bought FE at a price that makes it worth their while. The Daily Deal isn't about getting FE owners to buy LH. It's about getting people who never heard of WoM/FE/LH to give the game a look and maybe buy because it looks interesting and $15 isn't that much.
If you're waiting for the price to drop below $10, you're not who Stardock is targeting with this sale.
And their reason for doing so matters, why?
A lot of customers have kept their distance from LH simply because they're bothered by the weird way its set up, in terms of doing the funny pricing thing rather than just making it an actual expansion. Stardock being unable to handle the Steam sale properly just adds credence to those concerns, even above the inherent problems like being forced to buy through Steam and not say, GOG.
The question is not, "Why is Stardock participating in this sale?" The question is, "Are the customers who wait for sales valuable to them?"
You have suggested that the answer is no, or should be no.
Well, that is a valid answer.
So... trying to attract new customers but alienating old ones. Doesn't really seem like a good business practice to me, but if that's how they want to operate, so be it.
Very few special deals also target existing customers. There are just so many cases of "switch, and you'll get a good deal". So it's not as if its a new way of doing business. But you may also notice that SD gave away free replacement games in the first place. There are a lot of games that are duds that never provide one decent game instead (and even perhaps one good to great game on top of that) for no extra cost.
Just to clarify and make clear about the Steam sale for LH:
This is a Steam sale, all the prices and sales are only good for those purchases.
The discounts are not stacking as that would put the sale into the negative. $9.99 for Fallen Enchantress owners (75% off regular price) is a huge deal already.
If you don't own FE, you can pick up Legendary Heroes for 66% off ($13.59) for another day.
