Forbidden Worlds DLC - how do I know if I have it?

I'm having a bad day.  I bought and activated Forbidden Worlds DLC, but I don't think I have it!

I launched Sins and nothing special happened (no prompt for Stardock login as expected) and Sins looks exactly like before.  No mention of "Forbidden Worlds" anywhere.  This is the first DLC I've ever bought, so not sure what to expect.

I have Sins v1.51.4787 and the Sins changelog said if you own FW you should see "Forbidden Worlds DLC" below the version string on the home page.  It ain't there.  When I right-click Sins in the Steam Client and choose "View downloadable content..." I see Forbidden Worlds listed, but once inside the game... I see nothing about it!

Can anyone tell me how to "verify" I have the DLC?  I also "verified integrity" of my local game cache but that didn't make any difference.  Aren't there any new maps or campaigns or anything to tell me I have it?

Thanks.

UPDATE: one more thing... I just noticed when I verified my cache, I got a "1 file failed to validate, will be reacquired".  That was awhile ago, and I relaunched the game.  Just now, I re-verified, and got the same message again!  1 file is not validating, but what is it?  Is it perhaps the DLC itself?  How do you know?  That's my dilemma!  Are the Stardock servers down?  Where is the DLC "stored" until you have it on your machine?  Thanks.

Ignore this....it has been stated by the devs that you will always get at least one file to fail to be validated for Sins, so that is definitely not your problem...

An SD employee will post an e-mail you can report your problem to...in the mean time, you can delete all local content and do a fresh, clean install to see if that solves your problem....

Thanks... reinstalling is what I'm trying now.  Will report on progress.

In the meantime... can you answer my question about How do you know if you have it, once inside the game?  What do I look for?

UPDATE: no luck, or so it seems.  I deleted, reinstalled, and ran the game again.  I still don't see "Forbidden Worlds" below the 1.51.4787 on the front page.

What you already looked for...you should see "Forbidden Worlds" in the bottom right...

You could also see if you even have the planets...go to the Map Designer (under Singleplayer) and see if you can get a system to spawn with some of the new planet types...preview the system and see if they actually appear in game....

Thanks... nothing there for me except the version.  Steam thinks I have paid for it, but the game doesn't.

UPDATE: I followed your advice and activated the Map Designer.  I've never used this before, but I just picked like "Group 3 planets" or something and hit Preview.  Once the map came up I hovered over several "Ferrous" and "Oceanic" planets!  These are the new types, right?  Maybe I do have the update?

Is there any documentation for the new material?  Like a manual or addendum or something?

I still don't see the phrase "Forbidden Worlds DLC" on the home page.  Is this a problem?

Thanks for the advice!

I have no idea why it does not say "Forbidden Worlds" underneath the version...

Start a game on any of the standard maps...look at your homeworld, and look at the planetary improvements...if you can build social or industrial specialization (they'll be the options in the bottom right) then you definitely have the DLC working...if you can't actually build those specializations, then you don't have the DLC enabled...

Sins doesn't really have a manual but someone may have written something about the new planets, idk....

Yes!  I can actually click on both Social and Industry Specialization!

Thanks very much for your help... I can get on with learning the game now!
