means sth like Magic damage like WAR3 or DOTA

ignore armor???

bcz ability like ARTT ChasticBurst is energy but PSI antimodule frigate is also energy

Some specific abilities only apply to physical or energy damage, but usually it doesn't matter a whole lot.

or just a series question about how to count actually Hull or Shield point lose

it seems that all TRTT's ability is physical so hp lose is not that high

bcz physical cares about armor?

so chastic burst much better some time?

but how about physical or energy normal attack

Nothing aside from ability modifers like Halycon's Energy Weapons Rate of Fire Modifying Ability that only effects energy weapons.

Abilities do 100% damage regardless of Armor types.

Weapons take into account their Damage Type -> Armor Type modifiers.

mitigation affects damage from weapons and abilities (excluding phase missiles).

Armor increases the effective hull by 5% per point.

Damage modifiers from weapons apply to both shields and hull.

lol so wtf ability damage type meaningless?

imo all the system is from WAR3  so should this physical/magical damage  except armor bonus from 6% to 5%

I will refine my comment on the ability damage a bit. It does 100% of damage to frigates which I was thinking of. CapitalShips, Pirate and Titans get 0.75 modifier to damage.

It's controlled in this table.

DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:CapitalShip 0.75
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:VeryLight 1.0
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:Light 1.0
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:Medium 1.0
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:Heavy 1.0
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:VeryHeavy 1.0
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:Module 1.0
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:Pirate 0.75
DamagePercentBonus:CAPITALABILITY:Titan 0.75

But this was about the Energy/Physical which I believe was answered. It pretty much only affects certain Buff based modifiers like:

  • EnergyWeaponCooldown (Advent Carrier CapitalShip: Amplify Energy Aura)
  • PhysicalDamageAsDamageDealer (TEC Carrier CapitalShip: Heavy Strike Craft)
  • PhysicalDamageAsDamageTarget (TEC Rebel Corvette)

The in game description for the Radiance's energy absorbing armor claim it only gets extra antimatter from energy attacks, but I have not tested this myself.

True, the buff is

  • ConvertDamageToAntiMatter

Never bothered to see if it's "only" energy though.

just like things in war3
