Yield Tiles appearing during game [Bug?]

I am curious if new yield tiles are appearing during games for other players. This has happened to me a couple of times. This usually happens when I load a saved game or sometimes they just appear during game play. I am not sure if this is a bug or the way it is suppose to be.

I thought this was a feature :P lol although I have only seen it happen on the campaign during .8xx or. 9xx . I have not noticed since 1.0.

Working as intended. Your borders will sometimes revive the land, creating new yield tiles for settling. Don't know the rules for it, but placing outposts (sometimes city borders too) will create a chance of yield tiles appearing over time.

Birth of summer does it faster.

I do recall times in FE where I would see no tile yields at a spot although if I highlighted them the tile yields would appear as the information. It could be this lingering bug still floating around. But without more definite screenshots of the situation before and after, it doesn't appear that Stardock has much to go on for this "bug".

The other people are correct in saying as you change the environment you actually increase the tile yields of neighboring tiles. Flatten out some swamps with an outpost and you might see fertile land magically pop-up.

Actually, there is 1 way to consistently generate yield tiles:

If you settle in 1 direction such that your 'zone of control' extends 6 tiles away from your city origin, those tiles that are in your ZoC and are 6 tiles away will become 'settleable' (well, it deals with the fact that cities have to be settled 5 tiles away from each other), and your city's zone of control always revives the land.

With outposts, that seems to be completely random as you stated.  I see that as an interesting random benefit.
