Deleting custom races?

All right, so I'm aware that you 'could' manually delete the file before, but when I delete it now the file just reappears every time I run the game. This is getting annoying. How do I get rid of it?

Also, I'm curious why this system wasn't improved between the expansion. An in-game delete should have been the least they did - I don't understand why they insisted on making 'race' and 'character' separate in the first place.

It's probably Steam Cloud sync putting your files back, turn it off in Steam

Have to agree with you too, should have been a button for it long ago. Can't believe how unfriendly some ui's still are in this day and age.

Turning off Steam Cloud, for a game that advertises Steam Cloud saves as a feature, cannot be working as planned. much less designed. I wonder if it will ever be fixed. There is a way to delete files from the Steam Cloud, but it's a PITA.

Seriously Stardock, give us a way to fully utilise the features in game, without the workarounds. Not every TBS gamer is a code monkey.

+1 to popular demand-fix list.

I would also like to be able to edit existing races. I recently created several custom races, and now and then I forgot to edit the shield, colors, race name or something. Well, that's just too bad for me, as there's no easy way to fix...

That's right I'm no code monkey :) I'm not sure this is a Stardock problem or if it is a Steam problem. I'm going with the latter, because steam should provide a better UI in deleting and maintaining cloud information (at least a removal feature).

Makes sense.
No offense to code monkeys intended btw, it's just a language I am not fluent in.

I've so far had no problems deleting factions by right-clicking them and selecting "yes" in the new game selection screen.  They don't re-appear on subsequent loads, and I don't have to hunt down a folder and delete them manually.  Try that out and see if it works.

That only hides the sovereign, not the faction, it's not actually deleted, as Parrottmath noted in the other thread.
