Legendary heroes just kicked fallen enchantress to the curb

I have never spent as much time in a beta as much as I did with legendary heroes, This game had me on the edge of my  seat making factions. Great job guys, I am sharing photos with my friends to get them to buy it as well.

I have a few requests, for mods or such.

First thing is, where can I find Legendary heroes mods.

Second, How do I add custom heroes? Id like to add some beast heroes.

How to add new traits?

I cannot agree with you more. I bought vanilla FE in beta, played for a bit then and on release and the game just didnt grip me like other 4X's do. It felt like the game was not connected or something.

Legendary heroes changes all of that. The pacing, the components all contribute to a more powerful whole.

Well done Stardock. I reckon im going to put as many hours into this as I did GalCiv2 :)

WTS:  Beta reg: 2012, slightly soiled copy of Fallen Enchantress.  One care owner with only 463 games on the clock.

You can currently find them in FE Mods section. They haven't specifically set up an LH mods section.

You can create custom heroes, by editing some xml and adding the appropriate tags, for more examples of heroes check the CoreUnits.xml file.

You can add new traits by adding some xml file. Follow the formatting found in CoreAbilities.xml -- in that process you might have to look at the CoreSpells.xml as well for a finished ability of some kind. Have fun modding.

Yes, and it is quite easy to do. Just copy a champion you would like to model into another file. Tweak some things (change the internal name), put this new file into your mods folder and there you have a new champion when your run your mods. The game will pick up the new internal name for the unit type and there you go.

You can copy some monster and make them into a champion by adding the tag <IsChampion>1</IsChampion> to the file.

The abilities work the same way, it only takes some time to learn the system they use to add effects and abilities in the game (it is quite accessable).

***WARNING: if you plan on changing any of the core files, back them up so you can replace them*** (less of a warning because steam will fix anything you break anyway, but you might not want to wait for the update to download).

Thanks parrot, I forgot to back up, but I managed to remember where I put all of them. How do I get the champion to spawn? or be pickable, I made a giant spider champion

The choosing of champions is random in the game... but you can make a quest that will give you the champion you've created as a reward (although that is random too, unless you design you own map and put your quest on there.)
