Ok So I got a free copy of FE and LH. Problem is they conflict with each other. My FE is a non steam copy while the code I got for LH is for the steam copy. Which I do not have. Is there a way to get a non steam version of LH? I am feeling like I am being screwed over.
LH is standalone, you don't need FE on Steam (or at all) in order to install it.
I would like to customize the game. It was always my favorite thing about the game. Now however I can only play online on a stupid platform that I hate and can't customize the game. Is there anyway just to download the game onto your pc without having to go through STEAM
The bad news: No, you need to install and activate it through steam.
The good news: you can play it in steam offline mode if you want and the game is still fully mod-able.
There has to be a non steam version of LH. Cause I am sick of companies forcing DRM on us. If I own the game. I should be able to play it with or with out the internet. Not this BS.

So how long until we get the standalone download/version like FE?
Once you've downloaded the game via steam, it doesn't require online authorization to play.
God forbid you should have to go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ instead of C:\Program Files\ if you want to mod the game. Truly, the developers are sadistic.

Seriously, in my best Gene Wilder voice, show us where Stardock forced you to buy their game? Sounds as if, in your own opinion, you made an uninformed choice, and want someone else to take responsibility for your mistake in judgement.
