[Future Content] Monster Requests for Stardock

Alright guys I figured I would start a thread for where we can put in a list of what new models/monsters we would like to see added to the game.  Please add to this, this is not so much a I want as a lets get a list of things we want as a community for a possible DLC.

My request is simple and may already be able to be done, but is beyond my ability to create.  Eventually I will append this with a total list of everything people have added to this thread.

Monsters requested: (Edited So Far 16 April 2013):

Minotaur (Perfect for a labyrinth dungeon pick your path final boss)

Giant scorpions

Ice Dragons

Evil Trees (I think Treants or for Lord of the Rings Ents or Huron's)

Beholders

Tentacles - (Not sure if a serious suggestion or not)

Hydras (Multi Headed serpent creature versions, my suggestion for today)

Zealot priests (With the ability to heal each other in battle)

Angels (doesn't have to be the wing-flap type)

Dawn Dragons (Good Dragons basically)

Vampires

A Spirit Naga

Sylph

Nymph

Harpies (Not Herpes)

Mana Devourer

Elder Dragons

Golden Lions(possibly winged)

Eagles

Great Stags

Sea serpents

Possible creatures for the seas, such as coastal skaths that spawn from the ocean and attack coastal areas.

Naga

Crabs (Giant ones I think)

Fishmen

Giant scorpions, ice dragons and evil trees

A beholder-like moster would be cool.

we need more tentacles!

I think the tentacle artists these days are too busy working for Lab Zero.

Ugh no tentacle monsters, unless tastefully done.

New monsters? Giant green frogs, of course. With special power to damage troops by using laser fast tongue to grab a soldier from a distance, and consume him/her. Would also have power to hop over a troop and attack another troop, maybe whip-attacking jumped over troop with its tongue.

Imho those suggestions are all extremely stock and wouldn't fit into the Elemental lore.

PS. If anyone wants to port the Stormworld monsters ( http://stormworld.wikidot.com/monsters ) to LH you are free to do so (except the Demonhound). They were intentionally chosen not to be native to Elemental lore though.

Exactly what type of monsters (other than spiders) fit into Elemental?

Anything that is already in the lore, or very close to the lore. Personally I would like to see more "good" monsters, they are basically all evil right now (or a few neutral). Fell Dragon, Dark Wizard, Undead Lich, Bandit Syndicates, Demons. How about monasteries with zealot priests that heal each other in battle? If you got demons why not angels (doesn't have to be the wing-flap type, think D3 or just god-touched individuals)? Dawn Dragons?

Vampires....all fantasy games need vampires!!

Vampires are basically in the game if you consider he Wraith factions ability.  You could mark them as undead as well but then you give them a huge negative because of the undead attack weapons that are out there.  Plus then they could not pick up those same weapons because hey they are undead  ^_^  . Anyways I will add them to the list anyways.  Updating it now.

A Spirit Naga or Sylph with the Charm Unit (Tame) ability.  (basically Beastmaster but ANY unit in the game, could regulate with Spell Mastery.  I built a Fred Saberhagen's 12 Swords of Power Mindsword with HF's help in FE.  It was ludicrous fun. }:) )

Harpies that fly, attack and return to a square in one move ala HOMM3.

A Mana Devourer that has a chance to Mana Leech enemy spell casters as they attempt to cast.  Or could affect whole battlefield...

I'd like to see a super-dragon type unit, like Elder Dragon. That way your stack of doom would have something to aspire to (even regular dragons become easy at late game). And the eldest of dragons would have knowledge older than the titans...perhaps special skill books that raise an island in the ocean, or something crazy and different.

This. We just got Lightbringers and Wisps, but they are basically the only "good" monsters in the game. Let's see some more so men have some monsters to recruit. Lore wise there had to be some tough native monsters from before the Titan's invasion. Maybe Golden Lions(possibly winged), Eagles, Great Stags, or...

Swamp Toads!

What I would really like to see is sea serpents. I think simply using the Abeix system and animation for them would be awesome. Of course first we need real naval travel. Throw in some Naga, crabs, and Fishmen as well.

Evil Trees (I think Treants or for Lord of the Rings Ents or Huron's)

Actually medallions for these have existed since WoM, although they were never added to the game.

Anyone else have thoughts for this?

I'm not sure, if that is possible. As far as I know, they can't be used outside of D&D games, just like Beholder, Mindflayer, Githyanki and a couple other monsters.

Well, I think if they just change the appearance a little and rename it, that would be OK.

After all the "Blink" spell is essentially "dimension door" from AD&D, Blizzard is essentially Ice storm, etc.

Also, the new "wisp" monster seems very similar to willow-the-wisp from AD&D.

Besides, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
