bug escape scroll doesnt move the stack to the capital

So basically i run into a stack that's nastier than expected use the scroll to escape except it only ends the combat and during ai turn my stack gets attacked by the ai stack i just escaped from.

 

Tried loading up and using the scroll again and same thing happened, since initiating combat zeros your movement points the point of escape without actually getting away is nil.

The text is wrong.  It just escapes you from the battle.  To get to your capital, you need a Recall scroll, which can only be used outside of battle.

Yep this ^ is true. This prevents the HUMAAN player from exploiting the game/ai by trying to escape far away from battles he knows he can't win. So, now you'll be more cautious and research your close opponents instead of just jumping in willy nilly and going "OHH MYIII I can't win this one I'm not gonna play" lol

i think it's fine as it is. if some monster/army attacks you on their turn, you can escape and run away on your turn. you don't have to attack them on your turn when you see that the other army is stronger and that you will likely lose. i don't know what the tooltip of the scroll says - maybe that should be fixed if it suggests that your army will be teleported to the capital.

Basically i was killing stronger stacks with ease then ran into a stack that was the same strength but had 3 wildling shamans i think it was that cast fire attacks that hit all your units, basically my entire army was half dead by the time i got to move so i chose to use the escape item, problem is that on ai turn the ai stack attacks me so my army without escape got wiped out.  That makes the item pointless.  And it does have text saying it will teleport to the capital, if that is supposed to change then with the current 0 movement on battle the item should give 1 movement or move you away from the stack you are escaping from.

If an item that clearly states that it will teleport you to the capital and is meant for escaping battles does not do that then it's broken.

Can we see a SCREENSHOT of the scroll? ;) Oh I bet you're gonna say you don't have one or a saved game previous from that battle that you could take a screenshot of that scroll for us aren't you? ;)

This happened to me too.  Either the text is wrong or the effect.

Would be good to get it fixed one way or the other.

I also confirm text says escape to capital. what you get is moved out of battle and placed next to enemy with no move pts. definitaly needs fixing.

I think it was a bug originally, then they brought in a new non-combat recall scroll to go to your capital, and forgot to change the Escape Scroll's text with the new intent to just escape from battle.  Escaping from battle and escaping to your capital with just one scroll is just too much.
