[Beta Balancing] Sov Leveling

Alrighty - let me start by saying that FE was already a very good game, and LH is just a wonderful step in the right direction and I am overall very, very happy with it as a game.

 

I read in the changelog about how champion exp gain was modified... and I am well in the mid-game of a huge map, and have had maybe around ~20ish battles with my Sov, and given him "Potential I", and he is still level 6. I fought a Shrill Lord and got like.... 5 xp from it. No Bueno.

 

Also, just as a suggestion, I would LOVE it if there was some special music that played when research has been completed. I can't stand it in 4x games when research completion is just a nominal entry in the turn log.... the visual reward for research completion is already very good, I would just like to hear some "you did it!" music (i.e. MOO2 & GalCiv2)

The music idea is actually very good!

Remember in MOM when you would finished researching a spell how exciting the music would be?

They updated the changelog; XP is still split when you have more than 1 Champion in your army. That would explain why you got only 5 xp off a Shrill Lord.

Even with the split in mind (I have started another game as well), I still feel like my champs/sov level really slowly.

At the moment leveling is slow, that and champions are much weaker than fielding a trained unit in your army. If they were to remove the split xp for champ/sov and improve the XP curve I think it would be a step in the right direction.

leveling is SLOW and PAINFUL , It forces me to NOT to team with heros and solo the game. :S

I've put more thought into it, it's not just the XP curve and the split XP that makes heroes under-powered it's just the fact that there are so few powerful weapons you can equip your sovereigns with.

The leveling is slow, and benefits you get for many levels now aren't that fun, which makes the problem worse.

 

The balance for this game due to the changes between LH and FE is going to have to have many changes.  The lack of powerful weapons is also a factor.

 

Right now most heroes I just park them in a city for the unrest.  It's boring.

I agree that the leveling pace seems a bit slow. 

It would also be nice to not have to spread out my heroes so much solely for xp reasons. I find it frustrating that the game is discouraging me from banding together my heroes to go fight the monsters of the world.
