Housekeeping Help: Custom Factions

I feel like such a noob. Where can I find the folder that contains all the old custom factions I've created so I can delete the ones that were either stupid, badly thought out or both? I know how to delete a sov, obviously, but I like to reuse faction names and there are a bunch of duplicates now.

In windows 7 I went to Documents/My Games/Fallen Enchantress.  There were several folders here and I think I found them under the folder titled "Races".  If you have created several there should be a xml file for each of the factions you created.  The xml file will be named whatever you named the custom faction when you created it in fallen enchantress.  Simply delete the xml files for the factions you want gone.

Can't you just delete these factions from inside the game - just select the faction and press delete?

This will only delete them in-game. The file, however, remains.
