Non Steam version and Map pack DLC question

I was playing the Steam version and I think I purchased it through stardock but didn't know how I ended up on steam. I was wondering if the one in my stardock account (didnt say steam only like Sins rebellion) is a playable non-steam version and how do I get the map pack if I will use the non-steam version since I bought the map pack off steam?

towerbooks, I have a stardock sourced code and have downloaded from the stardock store, and have NOT got ANY version of boiled ice on most of my systems and can run it without any issues, you must have bought it from a NON-stardock location as they only offer ice keys and force the ice to download and stardock DOES not get as much of the purchase price as buying directly from stardock as BOTH(as far as I know(I do not)) ICE and the other location BOTH get a significant cut of the price (eg ice 30%& assume that the other locations also get a 30% cut leaving stardock with ONLY 40% of the price to do ALL the support and upgrading whereas the strdock purchased they get 100%- bank fees & charges(about 5-10% all up) do to the same.

Finally donwloaded the one in my stardock account and I found the map pack even though I bought it through steam. Anyway I will make sure I purchase it through stardock next time but the thing is I think it was either from gamersgate or steam itself or through stardock and I can't remember which but I am pretty sure its either of the 3.

Sooooo steam has the DLC for sale at $1.69..but Steam does not let me buy it because I have the Stardock version.  Does anyone know a work around and if it will install?
