Is there any way to show how many turns a move will take?

I just started playing this today, and I'm not seeing one of the features that I've always seen in similar TBS games. Let's say I decide to move someone across the map; in every other game, you will see numbers along the way showing how many turns it will take to arrive to that specific tile.  I don't see anything like this, and I can't seem to find an option to make it appear.

Am I missing something?

My advice, don't click on a specific spot and let your units move on their own.  The AI has poor pathfinding, it seems to me to go the most direct route, not the quickest route.

Yeah, can we please get some sort of counter for movement?  I've frequently run into situations where I'm trying to get vulnerable units from point A to B; my units have a single movement point left and have been traveling on a road (and will continue to do so for their journey).  Can I safely use the remaining movement point, or might I end my turn adjacent to one of the monster lairs flanking the road?  Who knows.

Easy: You will always end up next to the lair. ALWAYS.

In these situations it's always best to inch your units forward. Some times I leave horse units with 3 moves left 1 tile from a camp just because walking around it will leave them vulnerable. Especially when moving into unknown space (Unexplored or FoW) try to creep at the max vision range just so you don't end up sitting next to a drake with 0 move left.

I've wondered about this too - I generally have no clue how far I can move or why my armies run out of moves.  I just move until they can't move anymore.  Some sort of indicator would be nice.

As for the pathfinding, the AI seems to favor roads, which makes sense.  And it seems to me the AI stops whenever it encounters something that might make you want to change its destination - a new bad guy, etc.

Yes, a movement indicator is really needed.  It has been asked for a lot on the forums.

Agreed.  But until that becomes available (we've had no promises from Stardock) you will have to move your units carefully usually 1 tile per click near a dangerous monster.  Remember units move 4 tiles along roads so move the stack carefully until you have 1 move shown as being left, now you actually have 4 tiles of road movement left...and you should be able to count that far and see if you can get clear.

If you're unsure save the game before moving.

If I were a strategy game developer, this would have been one of the first features I put in.  It's a complete oversight...EPIC FAIL Stardock!
