Growing Instability in the Game

Shades of Elemental

I am new to the game but there seems to be a growing instability in the game itself. For instance my transport ship goes off by itself and not where I send it. I dock the ship and I can't get to sit still long enough to board it. I am on chapter 8 using the King of Resoln. Also my city just went to sleep, it will let me train but I can't build anything. The game is becoming more flaky and unstable as I go.

Another thing is that, while I have trained some special units and added them the Resoln's army, they don't ever show up on the battle field. Or they show up but they cannot be chosen to fight.

I really want to lke this game, just as I did the original Elemental which I spent $50 on while the program never really worked. I must have 20 plus hours in this game at this point and it looks like I will have to start over, which is boring and not fun.

HELP!

As far as the ship moving around, sounds like it is on explore. Select the ship and hit the explore button, that will toggle it out of explore mode. If you can't build anything else in a city that is because you will need either:

1. research new techs to get new building (or you may have just run out... the scenario does not give access to all the sandbox game's techs, etc.)

2. sufficient land space... make sure no tiles you want to build on are "swamp" if they are, cast raise earth on them.

As far as units not working, I'd guess the only way someone could help you with that is if you made a save game available (using dropbox and a link to file, or something similar) and a description of exactly which units are giving you trouble.

You were right the ship was still on explore, I thought I had cancelled the explore. Once I got the ship out of the explore mode it worked better an I was able to load more units on to the ship.

However, in chapter 8 there are only three beaches at which to land your ship. One is at your home city, the other was on some isolated desert island and the last on the coast southeast of your city. In order to progress the game you have to land on the coast to the southeast, except now there are Battleborn armies there and the more you fight the more armies materialize, until you are just overrrun. I must have won eight battles in a row, just to lose the 9th and there were still eight to ten armies on the coast. You can't continue the game because you can't move off the beach because of the neverending armies you have to fight. It get BORING after a while, I may have to restart this game after 8 hours in. Is this a bug?

I have played the campaign up to that point twice.

The first time some other issue went wrong so i started again and then went on to finish.

The battleborn armies were mere cannon fodder to me, both times. I had sufficient strength from the previous map to plow through them using auto calc and rest a bit here and there to regain health.

The trick is, you need to wait around in the first mission for gold and research to provide some decent equipment. I went a bit extreme.... i sat watching TV while clicking end turn until i had the powerful Magical amor! By the end of the campaign i realized that was a waste of time!!! The big boss enemies are pussies in the campaign (spits on ground).
