We need bridges!

roads in river tiles don't seem to do much. i think it would be awesome if we could get bridges across rvers, automatically built whenever a road crosses a river (after discovering a certain tech?) that would allow the road to operate at normal efficiency for units walking along it, and not get slowed down by the water.

As I haven´t played a full game from beginning to the end, that was exactly the thing I wondered about, i.e. if there is a technology that allows you to build bridges (i.e. "real" bridges, not only fallen tree longs over the river).

 

I agree, if this ability isn´t in the game (yet) it should definitely be introduced.

Maybe as a construction project, that can be initiated for river tiles within the borders of your empire and then be executed by the nearest town

Poor idea we don't need bridges. Fjords maybe....bridges nope. ;)

What exactly makes it a poor idea?  I can understand if it's something you don't want, but that doesn't make it a poor idea.

I agree bridges would look good, but roads do operate at normal efficiency where they cross rivers. You just have to be carefull spotting the precise square.

I find it a minor detail, but I would like to see them over the rivers
