[Balance] .992 - Studded Collar

Studded Collar seems a bit too powerful: maybe add a maximum level to the creature it can capture?

I just got a hoarder spider with it in my game (Level 10, 160 hp, 41 atk, 21 def). This is less than 50 turns into the game.

As long as Ai might have a chance to get it too, I don't see a problem. Grats on a lucky find!

That reminds me...

I did some AI wars just for fun the other day, didn't pay much attention to it tho. AI players against each other were quite slow, lazy and not eager to fight until all of a sudden a world war bursted.

At some time, must have been turn 100 or so, I saw Gilden roam around with an Ashwake Dragon. I don't know where they got it, is Markin a badass quester? Be that as it may, at that moment the winner of those AI wars was decided.  :cylon:

I've had Fell and Strom Dragons, never an Ashwake, which you prolly can get through a pretty hard quest.

Capturing a level 9-10 monster is about a 50% chance of failure with the collar, and there is usually only 1 or 2 of those monsters on the map, so you really have to look around for the beefy monster after you find the collar.  Sometimes you get lucky, and admittedly this is a fantastic early game boost if you don't screw up.  Otherwise your sovereign probably just got killed by that level 10 monster you were hunting.

What monsters work with the collar?

I have never been able to get it to work, and I usually just get killed trying to use it.

Probably from a quest.  I saw the an AI (Gilden, I think) with the spider riding quest heroine on turn 30.  The AI can solve quests that are WAY out of their league, at least on ridiculous difficulty.

Only works on Beasts, IIRC.

The collar is one of the most interesting pieces in the game.

IF you want a tougher beast, you have to take the risk by getting up close and personal.

Maybe make a casting time of 1. That'll spice things up. XD

It should really throw some aggro at the unit attempting to use it as well.

I'd be all for it.  It's a bit too safe right now.

The only it's not safe is if it doesn't work. Odds are you're dead then.

But if it works, it's an easy win.

At least with a casting time of 1 you'd have to sweat it out a bit first.

If not the casting time of 1, at the very least the creature should get a preemptive strike on you. Like an attack of opportunity. The casting time should be able to be modded in the game, the preemptive strike on the other hand...not sure about that one.
