[0.982] Studded Collar Bug

My sovereign captured a big spider with the studded collar in a tactical battle but by the time I had done that my hero and and sand golem had already died. However, when the fight ended by capturing the spider, my sand golem was back alive and my hero didn't pick up an injury. I am guessing when the battle ends with a capture the game doesn't register earlier deaths.

By the way, studded collar seems way too powerful. Does that work 100%? I found like 3 of them at the beginning of the game too.

Yes, maybe the creature could snap the collar if unlucky.  Maybe it should have a success probability of 50%.

It doesnt work every time. I tried it on a bear and he resisted, collar disappeared but the bear also disappeared and showed up as dead in the battle summary afterwards.

Very interesting trick. I LIKE the collar.

Still working at what is defined to be a 'beast'. Apparently slags don't count. :annoyed:   XD

If you click on unit details it is fairly clearly marked what is a beast and what isn't (check the top part of the screen). Slags are dragons.

Thanks for the tip.

On a side note, what are people's opinion as to what the 'best' beast is to take control of??

I did an albino rock spider once. Pretty tanky and the acid spit was awesome.

Umberdroths and hoarder spiders are, IMO, the best beasts to tame, assuming you can live long enough to get control of 'em.  I like ophidians as well, but their spell resistance makes it near impossible to tame them.

I usually go for the big burly bears with maul.

Just got me a Ravenous Haridran. Attack 21 and Hp of 63. Solid choice.
