Pre-ordering with the discount and playing on Steam?

So I preorderd the game from the website as being an old owner of the first Elemental got me about $10 off. I'm downloading the beta now, but my Impluse/Gamestop/whateveritisnow section My Games, doesn't list the new Elemental game next to the old one. 

So here's the question. Is this new Elemental tied to a different service? Or can it be activated/attached to any of them? For instance, I'd really like it if there was a way to activate my copy of the beta I just bought to my Steam account. Is there any way to do that?

You can get it from us either via http://download.stardock.com or via Stardock Central.

Impulse is now owned by Gamestop. If you bought E:FE from Stardock directly you won't have access to it through Impulse.

(9) Before anyone asks, no, you can’t transfer your FE serial to Steam. I can’t go into the details on why this is so don’t ask. Just assume it has something to do with gold plated rocket cars or something.
