Am I evil?

...or just a cold-hearted mercenary for killing a peace-loving Garrote (some sort of yeti), living in a tree house with the animals of the forest, minding his own business, far off the beaten track of man?

And why did I not  get an option to let him live?

Depends if you took pleasure from the action you did. As it stands you are a bad, bad person.

There is always an option to let him live, abandon the quest.

Of course, the person who wrote the quest is baiting such people to kill said peace-loving Garrote. I think the person who hired you to do such an action is evil.

I did not take pleasure in it. Which makes me a bad, bad person. Which is kind of sad.

It seems some of the quests never got finished, like this one. I like the "moral dilemma" quests, but that entails a decision to be made, a path to take.

Exactly. Of course, reading from the forums, I don't think there were too many people writing quests except frogboy. When we get to write our own quests we can populate the world with appropriately filled moral dilemma quests, which I do enjoy.
