Bug: Unlocking Quests

I have seen this mentioned before, but caqn't find thread and not sure issue has been recognized/addressed...

Certain quests have a prerequisite that yu have to have researched Heros 9or higher) before you can trigger the quest. The quest locations for these have red icons above them. Even after I research the appropriate technology, the red icons remain; I still get the message "research .... to go on quests" (or something like that); and the wuest is not triggered.

The revious post I saw had some advice that this may be casued by trying to use an old custom soverign.....I created a new soverign after the latest update, and have entered the quest tile after researching the appropriate technolgy with my soverign as well with another champion, and no dice. I am, however, using a custom faction, in case that is creating the problem.

Sounds really weird, never seen this, have you tried reinstalling the game? meaby some remnants of the old game somewhere is messing up stuff.

I also have seen this in a upgraded to .952 game and also saw it in each of the .951 games that I have played with a custom sov & race.

will try a uninstall, remove all traces then re-install to confirm.

edit and still getting this in a new game with the same sov & race, but after a COMPLETE un-install, the install from the full .952 beta installer, in particular the dragon statue quest requires breon's letters to unlock, BUT have breon's letters to get level 9 heros
