Question about the music

Hi all, not currently in the beta, was just wondering if someone could comment on the music.  Is it good?  For me, music can really make or break the atmosphere in a video game.  Has the music changed from War of Magic?  I couldn't find any dedicated Fallen Enchantress music videos on Youtube, and all of the Let's Plays and previews have the volume set too low to really hear anything meaningful.

Thanks for your thoughts!

I haven't played War of Magic, but the music is okay. Its not as good as Age of Wonders 2 in my opinion, but its a similar style, a little more low key overall. Primary instruments seem to be strings and wind and overall I find it enjoyable to listen to.

There are a bunch of songs in the music folder, including different mood versions of the same song. I am guessing they change what plays based on the state of the game, though I never really noticed while I was playing.

I usally turn off the music in games with the exception of Star Wars games. In fact it is the first thing I do after loading a game. Music to me in most games is not important at all.  But I do turn up the back ground ambiant noise and combat (basically all other sounds in the game.)

Besides I can have my own music playing in the background.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Can the music files be replaced with our own mp3s (e.g. the Age of Wonders II soundtrack) so that those play instead in-game?

From what I gather I think this can or people will be able to do this once the game is out. But am not sure if it will be as easy to do as AOW was.

jshores posted last week that he has tried and apparently succeeded in adding custom music. See his thread here. So it might be possible to have custom playlists, but it's definitely not as easy as in AoW. Nor is the music as memorable (it's not bad though).
