Who uses Dynasties?

I remembered that Boogiebac told us how to implement dynasties in FE. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm wondering who has. To quote what Boogiebac said: "Game\Data\English\ElementalDefs.xml --> <EnableDynasties>1</EnableDynasties>:". (minus the "-thingies.)

If I have some time to try to get this to work, I definitely will.  I loved having my kids kick butt...  late game high end champs for all!

IIRC, you can marry, but not have kids in the current state

Hmmm... I just tried what Boogiebac said, but I can't find the marry button and don't see a dynasty menu. (With warfare, ledger etc.) I tried it with Mods on and off. I changed the .xml file. But alas, at no avail. Did I missed something?

When changing files in the installation directory, you need to start your game with -localdataonly in the shortcut. Also, remember to restore the file before applying official patches or it will fail.

Dynasties where a major feature in Elemental: War of Magic. It allowed your sovereign to marry a hero and have children. These children would come into the game as heroes. You could then arange a marriage between two sovereign children (male with female) and then this would give a bonus to the relation with that sovereign. Also these children would get there own children. Sadly this feature was removed from FE... :'(

Hmmm... I can't get it to work.

- I checked the file if the zero was replaced with a one. (Game\Data\English\ElementalDefs.xml --> <EnableDynasties>1</EnableDynasties>:)

- I tried the -localdataonly in the desktop-shortcut and the shortcut in the game folder inself. Both didn't work for me. (Elemental - Fallen Enchantress -localdataonly)

Does it even work? I'm wondering if they deleted the date in the game folder... :(

Click Properties on the shortcut, look for the file path in the little box, at the very end of the file path add a space and then -localdataonly.

Just in case people are thinking they need to add it to the name of the shortcut.

I'm in the same boat as Alfdaur. I changed <EnableDynasties> to 1 and added -localdataonly to the shortcut and still nu luck. Just to confirm (I may have it wrong) I add -localdataonly to the shortcut by going "properties" "shortcut tab" and adding it to the end in the "target" field?

The last post was from April 1st. They may have removed the ability to turn dynasties back on from the release version of the game.

Bloody necromancer ^_^

PS. Try changing the "enable dynasties" to 1 and run the game as administrator, or ask in the modding forum, some of the guys there usually knows how to change this persistent game ^_^
