Why is it taking so long to process my order

Why is it taking so long to process my order

I placed my order for Object Desktop, Tweak 7 and Objectdock Plus v2 last Saturday. I was advised that it would take up to 2 working days to process the order. Well it's now another weekend and still when I log on it says I have no orders and strangely the shopping cart still says I have 3 items in it despite receiving an order confirming the order and giving me an order number 2171806.

Can someone from Stardock please look into this as I am getting concerned.

Many thanks.

Yes it and Sins of a Solar Empire both show up but no Start8
Do you see Start8 at  https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products ?

Do you have the show beta option set in SDC?

Maybe this has been said before, and there is a good reason for it, but just wanted to pop my 2 cents in about it.

When buying something online and paying with PayPal, I usually expect that it is an instant buy. So was a bit frustrating to see that the purchase I made now most likely will not be processed before January 2nd with the Stardock people going on holidays (something I'm not complaining about, they need their vacations too).

Have you guys considered a different setup for the store? There really shouldn't be much of a problem to have credit card and PayPal orders confirmed immediately for online purchases.

I just placed order number 2391484 via Paypal only to run into this same problem (see ticket number NMM-772-18901).

I don't think I have had to have an order for a digital product manually reviewed in over a decade and I make hundreds of purchases of this type per year (17 Paypal orders in the last two weeks alone).  The buyer expectation for digital products is immediate delivery.  There is no good excuse for not being able to do that.  Fraud prevention is not a good excuse.  Equipment or network failure is not a good excuse (it is at least a good reason).  Being on vacation is definitely not a good excuse.

I am not a happy customer.  This is not the first impression you want to make.

tctalbert, I don't think this is a big issue, just an idea for something I'd see as an improvement. It is of course up to Stardock how they wish to have the online store operating  :)

Whether I'm a happy customer or not isn't up to this at least. I'll wait with that statement until I know if I'm a happy customer after using the software ;)

Are all of those digital content delivery or product postage?

I too buy things online frequently and there most certainly is a built-in delay between purchase and product dispatch notification ....usually a few days.

Impulse buying is not always impulse receipt.

Companies and/or lending institutions who care appropriately about Internet fraud, etc are quite right to put a hold on things from time to time if there is an impression of an issue.

In your case it could even be the frequency that you have been making purchases has set off a bell somewhere.

It's YOUR money...and YOUR security that is precipitating YOUR necessity to wait.

Unfortunately it DOES happen.

Then you get a phonecall from your bank asking did you just make a purchase of $1050 in a shop in Canada...to which you reply...no, I live in Melbourne and my arms don't reach that far. [happened to me last year...then came ALL THE FUN of a new credit card, etc]...;)

Fraud Prevention isn't an 'excuse' it's a REASON.

Equipment Failure isn't an excuse it's plainly apparent and real [when it happens].

Being on vacation as a cause of a delay is called 'real life'.   The NOW GENERATION needs to think more like the-little-bit-later-generation.

BTW....with Paypal I receive on average [privately] about 1 a week to 1 a month of 'Paypal' scam emails.   At that rate there WILL BE some taken in by them  thus rendering Paypal less than 'ideal'...;)

Our records show your order was declined by the bank.

If you are using a one time use card or a virtual card that you add money to, make sure that you have enough to cover the cost of the product and the authorization.

The authorization is a $2  temporary hold (not a charge). We do this check to verify that the information that you entered is the same as what is on the card (fraud check). This amount is dropped and not charged. The time it takes for it to drop off your card depends on your bank's policies.

We also accept Paypal at our store if that might work better.

It looks like a few orders were stuck in our reparser queue, which is what happened to yours.  We're clearing things up now, I'll let you know when it's sorted.

I have an odd situation, I ordered Windows Blinds on Paypal and it seems like it was submitted a few days after the fact....I payed for this software and would like to get it within in 1 business day of ordering.

Is your paypal email the same as your stardock login account email?

Me too, me too.  I ordered and paid for two of your products yet can't download and use any of them.  Please unstick the process.

I'm currently stuck waiting for my order to be processed as well. It's an annoying inconvenience when, as people have said, online software purchases are expected to be instantly available. However, it is what it is. In the meantime, I'd like to indulge my curiosity with a few questions.

1: Why is there a delay with the availability of the software after purchase?

2: How long on average does it take for an order to be processed?

3: Is there any way to speed up the process?

1: Why is there a delay with the availability of the software after purchase?

Your first attempt failed because the address you entered didn't match your banks address on file for you.
Your second attempt failed because of  distance between where you were buying from (or where your IP was reported being) and where you were.

2: How long on average does it take for an order to be processed?

If it happens on a weekend . . it usually gets resolved on Monday.

It's resolved now.

Currently my order is being queued for processing.

I don't get to much time to work on my PC, tonight is one of the few nights I have every couple months. This program would really be useless for me for a couple months. Which would then burn through my subscription.

I understand that you may need to confirm some orders information manually. (I am assuming this did not process because I did not put in my street address, which was not a required field.) A notice before placing my order explaining there may be a chance that the order will be delayed should be given.

Due to this I would like to cancel my order. I am unable to find any way to do so.

No one was here on the weekend to validate your order.  It is now complete though.  If you are still interested in a refund, please email [email protected]
