[BUG?] AI opponents stealing my unit designs, race and all

So I was able to finish my first protracted game last night without save corruption and only one AI quick killed by a monster. Was really fun. But something annoying started to happen about half way through.

I started fighting my own custom units.

Enemy AI's were training my custom units. Name, Weapons, Race, Custom look, Special Race Ability (Tarth Enduring), Everything... Even units I made 2 games prior using a race not present in the current game.

Anyone else see this? Hope this wasn't reported before, went back pretty far in the forums and didn't see it.

While I like the idea of the AI learning to EMULATE a very effective unit design, I don't think they should be using direct copies or should remember/ have access to units not seen in the current game.

I saw this in a game that recently was lost. What made it weirder is that the unit was of a different race to the AI. It was a Kingdom-human nation using a Trog-Empire force.

Yeah its a known issue, unfortunately.

Its a known "feature". I really dont see the problem with it.

It is a bug that all races can be used. Not sure about the copying in general.

It's definitely a bug.  I've encountered the same thing.

I've seen it too.  Not sure if it's a bug or a feature (maybe a feechur?) but it does seem wrong that Empire can use Kingdom troops and vice-versa.

I don't mind them copying designs, I can imagine that's a feature, but they should always have to use their own race (with its own stats) rather than the race the unit was designed for.  Or maybe easier, restrict the unit designs that can be used based on the race that created it.

Hey, so they have excellent undercover recruiters in other regions, and good spys acquire intel on your troop training doctrine.   And they know a good thing when they see it.  Take it as a complement.
