For some reason, I just decided to check up on Fallen Enchantress.  It seems like the Beta literally just started.  I think I might have actually come the day this happened, because several of the posts here say today or yesterday's dates.

 

I checked the Stardock site and it says I am eligible for the Beta as a pre-purchaser of Elemental:  War of Magic.  It also says I will receive an e-mail and the beta will be automatically added to my "download" page when it is ready to download.

 

My question is, WHEN?  How do the notifications get sent?  I know I was high up in the pre-purchase of E:WoM, but I have heard no word of anything, and literally think I just happened to check on this for the first time in 1/2 a year on the day things seem to have started.

 

Is there a way I can even know when I will get access?

 

I, like so many others, loved a lot about the original, but overall fail it failed as a game.  Now, this one, from what I've read, might be what the original one could've been.  I am obviously very excited to try it.

 

How long will I have to wait?  Is there a way of knowing?

Well, the email would go to the email address you registered in when you purchased WoM pre-order/beta access, so if that's changed, that would explain why you haven't got the email.  However, you can login to the Stardock Store at download.stardock.com and it should show both Elemental: WoM and FE beta in it.  If it doesn't, contact the [email protected] email address.

It definitely has everything BUT fallen enchantress.  On the Fallen Enchantress site, it say I am eligible for it for FREE, but have heard nothing yet.

 

Same e-mail I had when I got it two years ago.

Okay, so what does stagger mean?  It is a little bit infuriating to know I purchase this game several years ago as one of the earliest pre-orders, yet now others have had access to the beta for several days and I have been given no information at all.

 

When will the next notifications go out?  How far/how often is this going to be staggered, and how was the choice made of who gets there's first.

 

Please answer someone official.

I'm not someone official.

Those who pre-ordered E:wom in 2010 were in the first wave of people in the beta. The second wave is supposed to be one week later, for those who bought it in 2010. After that, they will be adding others as they go.

Check when you bought E:wom. If it was before its release date, the 24th of August 2010, I'd send [email protected] an e-mail.

Yes, it was purchased before release.  That is what has me bothered that I haven't received the Beta yet.

It would have been sent to the email you registered with (perhaps an old email adress?).  Given that you purchased pre release you should be able to download now.

Ignore the e-mail. If you have access to the beta, it's on the products page. If it's not, and you pre-ordered, send [email protected] an e-mai.

I never got an email, but when I logged on to the Stardock store with my Impulse credentials, it was there.

First off, thanks for all the comments trying to help.  I know I sound frustrated, because I am, but I do appreciate people trying to help me out.

 

There is no question I pre-ordered it, I became a big fan of Stardock/Wardell after the 3 GalCiv 2 chapters, and I thought the art was among the best I had ever seen with Elemental.

About a year ago, I had a computer crash, so a lot of documents (like my original receipt of it) got lost.

 

When I go to the download page, it says I have access to all of the GalCiv 2 games, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Elemental (with Destiny's Ember...which apparently never happened).  The odd thing is, when I go to the "order history page", it has all of these listed as being purchased EXCEPT Elemental.  I bet that is where the problem is, but I did purchase it, I actually am positive I pre-purchased it, but on that page there is no record I ever bought it. 

Yet on the download page, it says I could download the full game no problem, and on the Fallen Enchantress page it tells me I have access to the new game FREE when the time comes.

 

I have e-mailed the [email protected] directly, and gone through the the "contact us" page, so two mails have been sent about this.  No doubt I am frustrated and hope someone replies soon.

 

As I said, I really liked the game initially, the 1st major overhaul (1.2, I believe) made it better, then 1.3 made it worse to me, and I stopped playing after 1.4.  It sounds like Fallen Enchantress might've become the game Elemental could've been, but I certainly want access to try it out.

 

Again, pure freak luck that I happened to check the page January 20, after many months of not checking anything, and found out the Beta access had been issued on the 19th.  Not trying to sound obnoxious or impatient, but I WANT MY BETA ACCESS...waaahhhhhhhhhhhh!

Ps... @ Heavenfall, I remember you, and you are as close to official as it gets without actually working for this company.  I remember you helping me out on a few mod adjustments I made, I believe on the random/custom maps aspect.

 

How is the new game so far?

Did you pre-order a physical copy from someone other than Stardock?  If so that is likely the problem as they come across as non-pre orders (because for Stardock they were not pre-order).   

 

However, if that is not the case, make sure you are using the same e-mail address as the one you used to buy the game originally, and if that fails, then send [email protected] an e-mail and see if they can sort it out.

As I said, my records all got lost in "the crash of 0'11" (which sucked), so I am not sure if I pre-ordered it from someone else, but I know I did pre-order it.  Thanks for the idea, though.

 

On a GOOD NOTE...situation clear!!!  The Stardock "support guy" wrote me, told me everything is cool and he put it in my download page.  I am downloading/installing now.

 

YEE-HAA.  Again, thanks everyone for your comments and to allow me to vent.  Looking forward to playing this game (as I like Elemental a lot, but thought it went the wrong way through updates).
