Small features that you would like to see changed from WoM for FE, or added

Here are a few fairly small things that I hope are changed or added. Since our overall understanding of FE is still fairly limited, some of these things may have changed. Also possible that I missed something in a dev journal.

1) Unit upgrades: I really hope we can upgrade existing units in FE. I hate that I can't change out my leather armor for metal armor on an existing unit. Being able to upgrade the blueprint is handy, but we need a way to upgrade units in the field.

2) Trade Management: Trade is a nightmare right now. You have all these little caravans running around (blocking up roads if they aren't yours!) with no real management screen. They get slaughtered easily, and it is really hard to keep track of this. I would like to see a trade management screen that keeps track of trade routes and caravans. Right now I really only build them to get roads, they are just too much of a pain beyond that. Honestly I would like road building to be separate from trade, but as long as the overall system is improved, I can live with it.

3) Building Upgrades: This is more of a wish-list item. I would like to change from automatic upgrades to player-driven upgrades. It would create another layer of decision making to have to decide which buildings to upgrade and where. You could also have different upgrade paths.

My hopes are mainly for modding, that they allow a certain flexibility in the xml so that we can come up with interesting ways to combine them.

1) I do believe that this has been confirmed for FE.

2) Agreed, plus caravans should regenerate normally after say 5 turns.

3) I agree this could add more depth because automatic upgrades are more limited, but it really depends on how city building is done in FE.

I would like to see Luxury Resources or Trade Goods. Click the link for my post on the topic. Just the addition of some resources that boost all the trade routes connected to a city would greatly deepen trading.

This is going to sound very superficial, but I really wish they would change how mountains are rendered.  Currently they're just amorphous blobs.  Make the physical altitude of them lower, but make them jagged and snow-covered.  It'll raise the polygon count a bit, but I think it would make the map look immensely better.

Hope so. There are still plenty of people that want to work on mods, so additional support would be great.

I hope so on #1 because that is just a silly flaw.

#2 would be great, but yeah, at a minimum some way for them to automatically regenerate is badly needed to reduce needless micromanagement.

For #3, yeah, we just need to know more about the strategic side of the game.

I don't mind the way they look. I guess that is just a matter or personal taste. It would be really cool though if Champions and maybe certain units with a special ability could move through them. This would allow Champions more freedom to adventure and explore, and could create some interesting strategic challenges.

I would like to see some races; such as the wraith, have an option to attack at night. This would reduce the line of sight to 2 or 3 tiles in tactical battles and force players to change their tactics when facing the wraith.
