DrJBHL, what do you think of patch 1.19c?

Have you tried it out?  What do you think of it?

Best regards,
Steven.

Dr. JBHL is way too smart to play a beta of Elemental. Come on, now.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what the Dr. thinks of the current patch. Consider me apologetic for posting on your thread.

(P.S.: No sarcasm here, I also hope that Elemental gets better and that Dr. J has some insights.)

I'm pretty sure "the Doc" isn't a gamer. His Stardock 'home' is the Wincustomize site, and he might also be a regular at Joeuser. Stardock owns many forum sites, and there's some cross-posting between them. When the cross-posting first started happening, I found it very disorienting because I didn't care about anything Stardock but GalCiv II.

Mostly, I still wish each domain was its own little world, but I've been able to adapt a bit more since the forum UI started tagging where a given post came from. In this Elemental topic, it's just us Elemental folks. But when you look at something in Personal Computing, for example, you might see OPs and replies from Elemental, GalCiv II, Wincustomize, or Joeuser--all very different 'local' communities.

Which would explain why people from some other Stardock forums saw the stuff about the fheroes2 mod project, because PC Gaming and Personal Computing are on multiple "sites". =)  I guess Stardock thought it would be beneficial if the different "local" communities mixed a little more. ^_^

Steven.

It can still get messy, even with the source-site info in the UI. The folks at Wincustomize seem considerably less comfy with trash talk than the gamers seem to be, not just 'swear words' but even 'clean but mean' talk.

My GC2 friend Mumblefratz actually attempted to map the forums a while back, but I can't find the post I'm vaguely remembering. If you're ever curious about what other sites might share a topic you're in, just replace the core domain name, elementalgame, with another Stardock site like galciv2, impulsedriven, wincustomize, or joeuser.

This topic is also available at impulsedriven and stardock, but not at wincustomize or joeuser. (You'll almost always see the thread when you play this game, but you can tell it isn't locally available because the topic name isn't displayed at the top of the page.)

Good point.  There are disadvantages to joining up the different "local" communities.
