I was looking at Elemental images on the game page in impulse and, surprise, image n.8 is exactly what i hoped tactical battles had to be.

Is it an  unfair and misleading advertising or is a work in progress?

Please Stardock answer this question or remove the image

I don´t understand you?
If you´re talking about the screenshots in the Media section of the website, then image number eight isn´t even a picture of the tactical battle screen.
The next picture shows tactical battle as it is seen in the game.
I don´t know if I get what you´re referring to?

So i think i've a different game than your one

'cause at impulse page, opening the screenshots of the game you can see at n.8 this one

And my EWOM tactical battles are very different

But if you have a copy of the game with this kind of tactical battles you can send me it!!!

That looks like some old concept art that got mixed in with more recent screen shots. As far as I know, no version of the game ever had tactical battles that looked like that.

@asadex: Hm, for me, image number 8 is a different one, or I´m just mistaken with what pictures you mean.
But you´re right, this perhaps shouldn´t be in there.
It even looks like a strategic view, not a tactical battle.

That screen was taken when the game still had a continuous turn system. Or it may just be a mock-up of such a system. It is rather misleading, considering how epic that screen looks in comparison to the current tactical battle system which is anything but epic. That said, not really a big deal.

"We apologise for the fault in the

 subtitles. Those responsible have been

sacked."

ps. Monty Python references aside, it should be cleaned up tomorrow. Thanks for mentioning it.

I'd prefer an answer as

"We apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Tomorrow we will change tactical battles as the one represented in the screenshot">_>

@Derek: Fast response, cool.

@asadex: Ahh.. I don´t know, I generally like the tactical battle system as it is. As said, the scene on the picture rather looks like strategic battle where you put armies against armies (or in this case dragons). I wouldn´t really want that.

That picture is a mock up from when the game was in preproduction.

I think in a strategy game battles have to be "armies against armies", we are not playing dolls!

The epic sense of this image was the first reason i bought this game, it looks like battles in a fantastic game as Fantasy Wars or Elven Legacy (TBS) with the background of your empire contruction and units customization, it was wonderfull.

Dereck, Play a little this two games and try to give at our tactical battles the same melee feeling during the fight, the same epic feeling before the clash of the armies.

King Arthur: The Roleplaying Wargame gets the tactical battles right, too.  Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever see anything quite as epic feeling in Elemental or its spin-offs.  Part of the problem is trying to please both the RPG and the TBS gamer.  From a RPG point-of-view, I like the more intimate battles with my heroes being the focus.  From a TBS point-of-view, the tactical battles are entirely underwhelming, especially when compare to other titles such as those you and I have mentioned.

I repeat: try Fantasy Wars or Elven Legacy, they are Turn Based.

King Arthur: The Roleplaying Wargame has RTT battles as the total war series but with a stupid "capture the strategy point" gameplay

BTW      RTT means Real Time Tactics ;P
