[v1.1] Upgrade existing units?

Is it possible like in GC2?

So I had my first full playthrough of Elemental since release and enjoyed the game except for some minor bugs and UI issues that are already being addressed in the forums. (Not being able to view city stats during leveling up is a major irritant). One thing I couldn't find, so here goes:

 

Is it possible to improve and upgrade military assets already built as better armor and weapons are researched? Or am I pretty much better off using them as canon fodder? If not, it is a shame to lose their relative gains in experience and level. If so, how? I couldn't figure it out.

 

[Edit] And before you flame me for not using search you should know it wasn't working for this forum.

 Heya... its 11am and I have :beer:   so I won't flame you. (actually i wouldnt flame you even if i was sober... honest)

 I have not been able to find a way to upgrade older inferior untis with experience in any way, shape or form. Instead of using them as cannon fodder though I moved them all to a new city and disbanded them so they would swell that new cities population. If there is a way, then I am ignorant of it.. sorry. Perhaps someone else knows.. good luck & welcome to EWoM.. glad your having fun.

 Oh, as for the search engine.. I find it works sporadically.. as to why.. I'm clueless as well.

Thanks. I've been using them to garrison cities as newer ones get sent to the front lines.
