Is there a way to view a hero's base stats? The only time I see them is upon level up. I like to know what they are so I can choose the role I want that character to play.
If there is, I can't find it and it's pretty damn annoying. You can scroll over their adjusted stats, like attack, and it will tell you how it got that score and it will tell you the stat, but I would rather have my stats listed in an easy to read way, especially if I am deciding to hire a champion.
This definitely needs addressing now that we can only put points into those and you can't even see them.
Has anyone tried to play as the Ember novel guys that don't use magic? Does that work? Why am I asking when I could just try myself and probably answer these questions quicker? Because I'm at work and I'm impatient. Good reasons.
There is a workaround but its far from convenient (and doesn't always work to boot. :().
When mousing over the magic res, defense, HP and attack stats in heroic overview the tooltip often displays the math behind getting the stat also containing the attributes (int for magic resistance, dexterity for defense, constitution for HP and strength for attack value).
Strength can also be viewed in the modify unit-card mode sometimes so that is another place for digging for the information.
Doesn't work when the stat equals 10 though and also doesn't even always works when it isn't 10. 
But most of the time after some menu-changing it is possible to get the needed information luckily...
Charisma of course is luckily openly visible...
