Where did my post "losing faith in elemental" go?

Title says it all,

i thought the thread was developing ok, since frogboy replied and so on...

I did not offend anyone nor did i use bad language... so whats up?

Just deleting it without further notice?? If you could please tell me the reason so i know what went wrong...

Somehow disappointing as well...

It was probably deleted for beating a dead horse.

There must be a heaven somewhere for the deleted posts. I am sure your post is there, enjoying its being with the other posts...

I didn't see the thread on the first three pages, administrator must have removed it.

I read a post this morning where someone tried to dispute the "knowingly released a defective product," assertion that some other poster made in a thread. The administrators may not have liked that & removed the whole thread .. but that's just speculation on my part .. I'm not sure if that was even your thread or if it was another one.

Not sure, I was adding a lot of intelligent discussion to that conversation last night...

especially @ myles

your wisdom seems to be endless. /kowtow

so, if it would be like you tell me, why did the uberboss froggie even reply to it?

in a matter of freedom of speech, i may beat a horse dead and a dead horse even two or three times.

but anyway, enjoy yourself, maybe someone who got some insight could at least tell me (via pm if you like) what went wrong...

Yigor - I don't believe it was your post that was the problem.  Unfortunately it attracted at least one reponse that Brad found offensive (rightly so).

I guess they just threw the baby out with the bathwater.

Also please remember that freedom of speech is a wonderful concept, but when you're using someone else's dime, they get to have the final say as to what people see.

I saw it just before it got deleted and have to admit, some of the last posts were cringe-worthy. I can understand why they deleted it.

ok ok,

thats at least a reason, but deleting that offending post would have been more appropriate than deleting the whole thread...

anyway, since the reason seems to be obvious now, i wont bother anymore, thx for your replies

They've been deleting posts outright lately.  In many of the cases it's been justified.  Overnight those posts were pretty bad.

For some reason a lot of my posts (entire threads I started) have suddenly vanished the past couple days.  Only a couple were bug reports.

Chiba...  you have a way to draw the trolls out.  You complain and they smell something familiar, troll phermones perhaps and they fight for your love and attention within your troll posts.

A few were really insulting and offensive.

"Troll Phermones," he he he.

Aliens was on the other night & this reminded of that seen where burke pushed his head up against the container with the face-hugger.

"Yeah, he really likes you Burke!"

This might have been one of the threads I responded in last night in a not so therapeutic way towards peoples constantcomplaining.  Sowwy}:)

If a thread has been going a while and gets removed, it generally means the trolls took over and it's not worth letting it carry on.

Freedom of speech only applies to what the government may or may not do. It does not apply to your ability to use privately owned media. These are our forums; posting here is a privilege, not a right, and we're not under any obligation to allow trolls to insult and berate us on our own property.

This particular thread was hidden because it got fairly profane near the end.  Often times, the post itself is fine but the comments get so derailed and problematic that there's no salvaging it. We generally prefer to lock threads that get out of hand but that isn't always possible.
