Grand kids becoming the Kings/Queens of defeated nations?

Has anyone else had the phenomenon of grandchildren (or great grandchildren, etc) joining defeated nations because they have blood ties to them and then becoming the King or Queen?  Ive had it a few times and ran into them.  They don't move, are usually stuck on some other nations capital, but you can interact with them the same as if they were a neutral faction.  When you start the dialog with them, there throne room is empty, but you can trade items and make treaties.  I'm curious if they are capable of more, like re-founding of their kingdom?  If they could, that would be bad ass.

That would definitely be a great thing to have! The AI heirs now are pretty much stuck in the capital doing nothing while mine are my toughest heroes.

Even if they done have inheritance, they should at least have all of the defeated player's armies become independant and hunt your sovreign down like in Lords of Magic. However, inheritance is better and using both (you are hunted down after killing their dynasty) is best.
