Forge Quest

It was your original starting point.  It should still be on the screen.  I thought the Forge quest should have been more difficult.

I'll give that a shot.

After destroying the monsters I went back to palace with all Forge objects in Inventory. Got a message saying something about (golems?) outside. Is that the end of the mission?

I still have the stuff in inventory, but where's my Super-powerful weapon or shield? What is the final reward of the mission? Or is it just a glitch?

Your sovereign must bring the items to the forge.

When you do complete the quest, you win as no one can stand against you, if master quest is enabled as a victory condition. If not enabled, I do not think taking it to completion currently does anything. When talking to the hermit, you can choose to not fight him resulting in getting a powerful sword.

I found the Quest victory a little underwhelming.  I thought it was a little to easy as well.  All of the destinations were within my territory so I basically teleported around and had it done in 5 minutes.

I do like the note of declining to fight and getting a sword.  I should have done that.

PS.  I love the names of the guys at the end.
