I'm hooked...

Okay, I really like this game.  Yesterday I played 2 games into the "200's" of turns.  Yes, there are bugs, graphic ones and the end turn button being grayed out even though no one had anything left.  Yet both those games and one last week were fun.  The way Stardock has supported games in the past (ie, GalCiv2), I bet by time "expansion B & C" come around this game will pretty well be fixed!

It just seems to take a while for it to get going, and while I understand that is within the theme of the story, it is not often what people want in a game.  Once I seem to get 150+ turns, I've liked all 3 games (though I haven't done that well, even on easy).

I'm hooked and think overall this will be a great game!

Ps- I LOVE the art style.  Sometimes I zoom in (limits disabled) just to look at the units and buildings in cities or the wild.  I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the artwork.  EXCELLENT JOB, please don't change this (as I have heard suggested...insane people!).

There is a lot of enjoyable detail and animation in the buildings of the cities. I like it too.

The game has great potential, but the game depth needs improvement.   There's not really many strategies available due to lack of game depth and balance issues.

I kind of agree, to an extent, especially early on in the game.  The absolute pure "Customer Support" (or Customer Caring and Friendliness) that this company has shown in the past is just remarkable, so I expect by expansion "C" that much of what was complained about will be approached in-game from a very different angle (ie, "They" listen to us, their fans).  I have had a lot of fun with those last several games, though the playtime was quite long for all.

In some ways, the "hook" that gets me about this game reminds me a lot of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms games.(aka ROT3K series of TBS)

The idea of recruiting "heroes", or in ROT3K "generals", is a cool element. I'm always wondering who I'll see next to try and recruit into the fold. I've just figured out the whole dynasty thing, only to have the game crash on it, but I like that also. I've not had kids yet to see how they work, but am looking forward to it.

ROT3K had "children" also that became generals for you. In that game a "loyalty" stat was also something to worry about and that is what made having your children become generals more valuable since they were naturally more loyal to you.

I'm loving the game so far as well, and have full confidence that the bugs will be ironed out soon.(within a month or 2)

I don't regret buying Elemental one bit! Fun stuff.
