Diplomacy Ideas

I had a great idea (or so I think) for new types of diplomatic functions in the game. First of all, there needs to be more resentment between Kingdom and Empire factions. Make it so that it is much harder for a Kingdom to engage in a peace treaty with an Empire, and vice-versa. Also, trade rates between Kingdoms and Empires should be ridiculous (like they are now for EVERY faction), or at least above average, to represent the emnity between them. Also, to solve a dispute between two warring factions, a cool idea to finish it once and for all would be to request a one-on-one duel with an enemy Sovereign, either to the death, after which the winner inherits the loser's faction, but maybe with a chance of some settlements becoming rebels, or a non-lethal duel, after which the winner gains more diplomatic capital and forces a ceasefire, but the loser still gets to walk away alive. Thoughts on it?

I like the one-on-one duel option between sovereigns. It's an all or nothing gambit, high risk high reward. Makes things interesting, but I think there should also be the option for Sovereigns to elect champions to fight on their behalf for these one-on-ones.

As far as Diplomacy goes, I had another idea that got lost in the swarm of the Elemental Army point-grabbing rush. It was about having RPG-like conversations between sovereigns that were more than one comment deep.

I agree...the RPG side of this game has a lot of untapped potential from added conversation  and tactical options, to the dynasty feature, etc...

This is what excites me about this game. I know the devs have talked alot about the RPG aspect of this game so I can;t see them not expanding it into something much deeper as more updates/patches/expansions come out.
