Beware of the slackers!!!

Hi

As the AI is so easy to beat, even on the hardest possible setting, both world and factions, I was getting quite bored with the game in its present state. Then 20 min ago I was hit by the idea of creating the worst kind of faction led by the worst kind of sovereign.

Enter the Slackers into the world of Elemental. The rejects of all the other Factions. Criminals, wastrels and other riff-raff. True cannonfodder.

Strengths:

None

Weaknesses:

Arrogant, uneducated, inefficient and superstitous

And who to lead these men of valour?

George W Bush, who is:

Cowardly, clumsy, blunt, ugly, cruel, stupid, insane and inefficient. Quite true in real life too. And all basic stats are set down to 5 of course.

This juggernaut is released upon the world with no talents or profession. And no spells as he would most likely be a greater danger to is allies than to is foes. He has no equipment, and the minimum of clothes, as I was hoping he might get a cold. Sadly he could not be naked, as SD seems to be bit prudish. I also selected Kingdom for the Slackers so George could not embue other heroes, but he can still teleport...damn.

As its really late here in Sweden Ive no yet unleashed my dogs of war, but will do so in the morning on the hardest level possible. Will report on the progress of the Slacker Empire later on.

Good night /Gordon

you should edit custom factions in too that are stronger and use not-buggy traits

-1 for irrelevant flame-bait political jibe.

I didn't like him either, but come on; you don't really want to start something like that, do you?

Well a true class post, funny thing this sort of seems to be the norm with liberals in general. Term liberal when applied in this case is anything but liberal. Yeah Bush was so mean, what was he thinking after 3100people were murdered on Sept 11, shoulda just talked, after all we all know how diplomatic Terrorist's and dictators are? Silly man that Bush.

Here I was expecting someone to mod in the human race, being led by Jesus.

Isn't political science an oxymoron?

And why would anyone ever make the slackers the BAD guys?

Yes let us NOT go into developing the worlds worst leaders into the microcosm of Elemental factors.. please..

GL. Equip army with best defenses money can buy, but no attack?

Polysci is about as useful a degree as Art History. No where can you apply such a degree without having a nose so brown your ethnicity could be called into question, or causes one to stoop so low as to be diagnosed with a spinal disorder.

Why is everyone turning this into a political argument all of a sudden?

What about the gameplay viability, which makes up 95% of the OP?

of yes, studying how government does and does not work is absolutely useless.  Since its such a small part of our lives and insignificant in the course of human history, I can completly understand how you might feel its a pointless degree.  The other three I have might also be considered the same by any person who has the vision of an ostrich with their head comfortably relaxing underground.

The only time a degree is worthless is when the person behind it didn't learn anything from their studies.  I know several art history majors who went into design fields and are doing quite well.  While I also know quite a couple engineers that seem to be working on the aerodynamics of hamburgers due to their inability to actually market the degree.  This is the kind of thing you learn in my other 'worthless' field of study, philosophy.  How to actually use what you know and apply it properly, lol

Enjoy your burger flipping.

Guess what, omni?  Your vote counts as much as a burger flipper, and no matter how well you understand the principles of government, your well-reasoned arguments are going to be drowned out in a chorus of demands for bread and circuses.

Imagine you're riding on a bus, trying to go from point A to point B.  You know how to get there because you have specialized training that tells you.  Sharing this bus with you are 60 other people who also want to get from point A to point B, and none of them know how to get there but everyone believes that they do.  The bus driver makes turns based on how many people are screaming to go one way or the other.  You can scream too if you want.  That's what it's like having a political science degree in a democratic system.  Good luck.

I almost hate to break this to you, but the value of a degree has nothing to do with what you learned from it.  The value of your degree is what people are willing to pay you based on your having it.  You can double major in poly-sci and philosophy and become an enlightened philosopher-king ready to lead humanity into a new golden age, but if it doesn't land you a job, well... enjoy your burger flipping.

P.S. Engineers make way more than poly-sci majors, who make more than philosophy majors, who make more than high school graduates, who make more than liberal arts majors.

Let's not with the politics, guys. There are plenty of other forums for that.
