1.07 Is where this game should have Started

All the bad publicity could have been avoided if stardock had waited one week

1.07 has been fairly stable and actually enjoyable to play.

Magic is better and more worth the effort

Bugs are still present but they are more acceptable and less game breaking than before

I have not felt like punching my computer at all today (Yes I am going to counseling for my rage issues)

If this game had been released as of today, all the bad publicity could have been avoided.  Stardock is going to get its head handed to them for issues they fixed in a week.

Thanks for the hard work Stardock and please keep the content coming.

PS. if I was Stardock I would release a free review copy of 1.07 to every game reviewer out there as if they had just released today.

Honestly, I hope this is what everyone says every patch

Noted issue so far - Mouse icon (feather) gets stuck as other things - crossed swords, etc. - too often.

No, it should not have started at 1.07.  This game won't be ready for release for another 3 months.

I'm also really annoyed they won't give me a refund for the lack of multiplayer. :(

I'm pretty sure 1.1 will end up being where the game should have started... maybe.

Are they going to revamp the combat system? Because the game needs that, too.

1.07 is a nice boost in performance for me(with ati 4870) :)

For  more gameplay pleasure we have to wait 1.1 I think, where the game starts to grow.

woah there...

there were plenty of people whining about not being able to wait to just play beta version x... if you felt like waiting until the game is polished more, feel free.

I think the criticism is a bit unwarranted.  The game PLAYS, even on my 3 year old single core processor. Yep, it laaags in late turns.  But not a single crash.

As for bugfixes, ets.  Frankly, this stuff is being whacked at the franatic rate Stardock pursued the GalCiv series, which resulted in excellent games.  Do you want your input into features, etc to make it into the game?  Write constructive posts.

This "woulda shoulda" stuff is your opinion that doesn't do anything useful but sound whiney and make any useful points you would contribute that much more unlikely to make their way into the game.

Instead how about pulling a post like this one?!  https://forums.stardock.com/393693  Mtrixis did not sugar coat it, but boy did he provide a LOT of valuable feedback that will very likely make it into the game and improve it greatly.

Whatever, you said your opinion, I said mine.

Cheers.

That's how I feel.

multiplayer will come.  They are just taking extra time to ensure the servers are stable.  (if you thought the game was buggy last week, imagine what the multiplayer was like)

I don't think they ever really marketed this as a multiplayer game.  They talked about it.  They've mentioned its going to be multiplayer.  But its not like Demigod, where the single player is the multiplayer without any sort of teamwork.

It's much better after this patch, I no longer have CTD when alt-tabbing :)

I'm a little surprised some of the first-week problems weren't caught in beta, but not too surprised -- I worked as a programmer for a little while, long enough to have had several "gah! how did we miss that one?" experiences.

I'm also a little sad about how intense some of the negative comments have been.  Personally I'm happy I got 1.0 when I did, but mainly because I quickly found these wonderful forums where people explained many things that were mystifying me.  I might have been happy to play with the beta (and for those complaining it's still beta, assume I actually said "the versions that were officially labeled beta").

I have no idea how the early bad reviews are going to affect Stardock's bottom line because I know nothing about how much early bad reviews affect sales over the total life of the product, though it seems perfectly reasonable to expect a financial hit in the short term.  Brad bet a chunk of his future profits on the strategy he followed, as he's entitled to do.

I agree with PawelS: The CTD-on-alt-tab fix is really, really nice, presuming it also applies to when my screen saver sends me back to the login screen.  Have been too busy to play 1.07 yet.  Yes, yes, wrong life priorities, but that's the way it is sometimes.

It's listed on the box.
