Hero ability not working

I recruited a lvl 3 hero that had an ability that said something like this "has the ability to hit an enemy with a devistating attack spell that can't miss".

Anyway. whenever i am in a battle that ability is listed under his actions but it always has a red X over it. When I do a mouse over it says not enough mana. Well, he isn;t a spell caster so he has no mana. I figured the solution was to imbue him so he has mana. I cast that spell and nothing happened. My soverign now has 3 less mana but this hero still has no mana, no spells, and can't use this ability that is in his action menu.

Has anyone else had this problem or been able to use this heroes ability correctly?

Was there another hero stationed in the same square, who may have gotten the imbue spell?

Yes, I imbued a hero that came with this ability and also +1 movement.  Many of his children received that ability too and it came in extremely handy in mid-game :grin:

There was no other hero in the sqare so no one got it although it did let me cast it. I'm not sure if that hero needs to be inbued because it is really a talent not a spell. but the mouseover says not enough mana.

Should have worked as i always give my spouse Mana.

Did reloading fix it? if not then maybe bug i would think.

The hero does need to be imbued to use that ability, even though it's listed as a talent.  It takes 3 mana to use the ability on an enemy within 1 square.
