[Suggestion] Hard time telling different factions apart

I'm having a hard time telling what faction is what in games.  Their "culture boundary" is all the same...yellow.  And when you hover over a unit or city all I see is the faction coat of arms and not the name (unless I'm missing something) so I don't know quickly which faction I'm talking too.

In my most recent game I declared war on what I thought was my main enemy but ended up being a minor civ.

In most civ type games, including GalCiv it was really easy to tell one opponent from the other.  One would be red, another green, etc.  But Elemental seems different unless I'm missing something.  Please do something with the color coding to tell civs and units apart.

I agree.  Everything is either yellow (neutral), red (hostile) or green (ally).  I think maybe that is an option...'smart colors', but before I enabled that I dont recall it being particularly better.

+1 to the need of seeing the name of the faction when hovering over units. Coat of arms is mostly worthless in terms of conveying information.

I also got confused on colors, although that's not as often since I rarely have more than one neighbour at once.

I agree.  It sucks that you can either see some obscure color, then have to find a city and click on it to see who owns it, or you see them as yellow and red, and STILL have no clue who it is.

yeah, i've still no idea who's bordering me. the factions aren't as synonymous with their colous as in gc2 (which i don't mind, so long as the info is somewhere).

i also have no idea how well i'm doing because there's no faction comparison screen.

and despite being quite far along, i've no idea even what shape the game world is or where the other factions becuase i'm boxed in by other civs and mountains! how can i make strategic alliances when i only seem to ever know about 2 or three factions at any one time?

You can cast a spell to lower mountains. And there's graphs that compare your population, power, and other things to different factions. Click an empty tile somewhere on the ground and deselect whatever city/unit you were using. Then click the little icons in the bottom/right area of the screen.

I had to disable smart colors because of that, but you can still mistake them if you don't have a border color nearby to check.
