Silly AI in Combat Tactic OR a master tacktic?

I attacked one of them big spiders with a weak army.

Needed the gold and was going for a marginal victory with just someof my troops surviving.

I made the normal "stand 2 tiles distance and wait to hammer him while shooting with archers" tactic that the AI cant beat.

To my surprise!

The one unit the AI had went for just one unit... who had a movment of 3.

And kept chancing it.... as i withrow...

so i began moving in circles with it... as i keep shooting it...

So now my new unbalanced tactic is to put somekind of "fast hero" that can move 3 tiles bakc up wiht -4 archers and just do the "dance of death".

As long as it dosent shoot... or has a limited mana. I can basically take down a 600something unit with a rediculously weak army... especially the trolls...

Little bit of both. At some point, it should probably -stop- trying to chase the unit down and attack the archers. Maybe not right away and maybe not with total devotion. But it should check to see how effective it is doing. Though at the same time, you did use decent tactics so there you go.

NOT the sort of thing to try against a human opponent!

Sane opponents will stop chasing what they can't catch and come and maul your archer squad(s).

Good against 1 opponent, but be very wary of some of the higher level unit special abilities.

I would have to vote it an AI exploit, not a master tactic.  IMHO.

Point was they never stop chasing.

The AI is ridiculous in that way...

The title was supposed to be sarcastic... and spelled right lol.
