Bugs and idea for betterment.

Hi

Have been playing the new patch for a coulpe of hours.

1 There should be a escalating cost for creating new settlements ex 1st 100g 2 200g 3rd 400g etc. To be able to spawn towns like mushrooms at the start makes the game a lot less appealing to me.

bugs so far

1 Cant equipp my heroes, no shield, its gone. Sux to buy gear that I cant use :)

2 Alien caravans block my captial, so i have difficulty viewing it and getting my own units inside, as well as my own caravans.

3 Strange auto resolve on random battles. I lose when I was certain I could win, and not even get a chance to fight it out myself.

4 Unit that I recruit in the field that is royal and supposed to raise the prestige of my citys does nothing at all.

Other than this its a lot of fun to play, and its good that they have make the AI better, and more of a challange.

Looking forward to the next patch /Gordon

1. We had this in the beta. It didn't work out to being fun.

2. ? You click on the shield on the main bar. Or you click on the portrait and choose equip.

I've tried playing with a lot of towns, and I can guarantee that it's not as useful as it seems. You basically lose time and money to build the settlers and the town, and if you build it in a place with no natural resources, then you will get at best a +1 to money, material, research and knowledge. Nothing to write home about. The only benefit to building cities without resources, is building them close to your borders for rapid troop deployment and defence.

I wouldlike to submite bugs:

1. I had quest to kill rats. When I backed with dead rat - nothing happens. So I cannot complete quest

2. CDT on R4870 on Win7 64bit

3. There are problems with coursor especially with its look (icon). The icon should be diffrent if I want to attack (swords) and diffrent when I want to close a window or something like that. But in many cases it stays. Example. I attacked enemy unit (icon swords) but when I want to close windows the coursor is still swords what makes difficult and brings confusion.

4. Well it is not a bug but it is annoying especially for new players like me. When you open a units stats and you point some stats for example Dexterity - there shoul be tool tip with the description of dex, strenght and so on

Yeah, the resources are the important thing in this game, not the cities. I've played a long time with just two cities, expanding their reach to more resources.

I and many disagree about the settlement issue. I did prefer i the way it was in the beta. But ok if you dont want it in the regular game, then how about a box in the options where one can choose if one wants to have a cost on settlements?

2 the shield in the portrait is not there as it was in the beta.

Thx for a great game /Gordon

1. I guess having such a cost for the settlements can be modded. "Adding an option" is generally very costly programmatically speaking.

Ahh..I see. Well I hope that more people raise the question to change their minds.

I got the shield gone from the Sovereign picture as well, but I found that there is option to enter inventory in Sovereign's/NPC Action menu. It's the icon without tooltip. I don't know if it's the bug or intended change.

Sometimes I also got this weird issue with cursor - it phases out of its place. When I click certain square it actually selects the square next to the one I selected, really annoying when moving. Of course the memory leak and poor performance is the most annoying and frustrating. If I had bought this in a store I would definetely consider returning it. The game is great but it's basically one, big technical mess sucking out the enjoyment.
