You never cease to surprise me!

I've played Stardock games for a while, participated in a few Betas both open and closed... I should have known hat Beta 4 wasn't the real deal. It was mediocre. But I just fired up the release version, and, my god what have you done. It just blows my mind how big a leap in quality, content and polish this is.

Now, there are a few issues remaining (Elemental crashing on alt-tab, for example) but I know from GalCiv and SoaSE just how dedicated Stardock are to their titles. And I think this is not only a worthy successor of GalCiv, but indeed Master of Magic itself. Yes, it is unfortunate that issues remain, but unlike other companies, Stardock actually listens to their customers. They did it in the beta, they will continue to do so now.

Stardock, once again, a job done well!

Nice to hear the beta-testers saying there has been a big improvement. Looking forward to seeing the next two weeks worth of improvements when they patch it to 1.1 tomorrow. Hopefully they got a lot more bug fixes, UI improvements and balancing done.

Yes, I did like the changes to the UI.  Although, it took some looking to find the 'Equipment' button. :p

Great job, folks.

There have been major leaps forward in the last few weeks.  Tatical battles are WAY better.  I'm also really enjoying the way city developement turned out.  I hate city spam.  In other 4x games the AI was always better at it than me.  So rather than build I just took their cities.  Now I have reasons to build my own.  There is so much potential in this game.  I hope Stardock and the mod community push their creative limits.

It is good improvement. The graphics are very nice. Those atmospheric effects adds live. Interface is much cleaner.

However, I do see that there is lots of work still left with balance, gameplay, spells, AI (both strategic and tactical). It is still not where I would like release to be. The game should excel first and foremost in GAMEPLAY, and here I am looking for SD to continue to work on it. (Though, knowing SD, they will)

Good post up to there, as this is no way a MoM successor/clone/remake etc.  Its something different, which isn't bad, but it is different.  The world still awaits a MoM2 and or just an overhaul(+multiplayer).  T

I love the game already, compared to many other games at release this is both playable and fun. As expected some things can (and will) be improved, it is actually even a pre-release version!
